Might be going to see Kendrick on Friday in Providence if I can find tickets for a reasonable price. Hopefully they'll have the vinyl there. Can't believe I still haven't gotten around to picking it up.

I havent listened to it enough to decide if I like it enough to buy it... but at this point i'm leaning towards yes.

It seems like it will all be orange vinyl... you'd think if it was a special/limited thing that was only through the official store, they would advertise that to try and sell them and/or it would be more expensive.

Went to the tour in Providence last night... probably the weirdest show I've ever been to. It was insane, in a good way. Except after 2 hours when they went offstage for the encore break (around 11:30pm), the fire alarm got pulled so we didn't get an encore. Looking at setlist.fm, it looks like encores have been 4-5 songs from Illinois, which makes me really pissed at whoever pulled that thing.

If you email Get On Down and ask about it, they'll tell you or find out for you... I've asked them about stuff in the past (The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack) and they've emailed me back fairly quickly.

Really tempted to get the big bundle, but I don't know if I can/should spend that much right now. If it isnt sold out after Christmas, I'll probably go for it. Wish it was limited... The Raekwon purple tape release was numbered, I was hoping this would be too.

I dont have time to go back and find it, but on twitter a day or two ago someone asked him about a vinyl release and he said it would be on "purple marble wax" I'm listening to the album now for the first time and so far it's really good. Love the production style.

Yeah, I ordered the red exclusive from Get On Down and received it last week. If you ordered the crazy deluxe package from Rza's bandcamp page then they probably just don't have all the pieces ready to ship yet. And if you ordered just the vinyl from the bandcamp page, its a gatefold black vinyl I think, not the limited red. Either way, I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Has anyone seen the movie yet? I was thinking about going this weekend but then I realized Skyfall comes out tomorrow and I'd rather see that.

I almost feel like it's offensive to call them "skits"... With the older Kanye skits on College Dropout and Late Reg, they were dumb tracks that were trying to be funny and were basically pointless. But here, they're essential parts of the story. And after all those bonus tracks it's really only 68min.

Given the recent history of major label rap albums, I'm really surprised the vinyl came out on time with the digital/cd. I need to get it this weekend, really want to contribute towards the first week sales numbers. Hoping they'll be big (I've heard it's projected at around 200k.)

yeah i noticed the same thing... to be honest, i'm not even sure i have it totally straight yet, though. it's kind of complicated and jumps around, which i really like, but is a little hard to follow.

Agreed. I really liked it... although I spent a while today thinking about how weird it is to care so much about reviews. I've gotten so mad in the past when Pitchfork trashed an album I loved, and it's just so pointless. But then they do something like this and write a great review about an album I love and all of a sudden I pretend what they say matters again... Oh well.
