  1. This has somehow become a Kanye thread, so I thought it'd be the appropriate place to alert people to the tweet he just put up... just says "June Eighteen". Hopefully it's the album release date and not something dumb like baby due date/wedding.
  2. Picked up (or tried to at least) MBDTF from BestBuy today... it's backordered but only $23 (free shipping). So hopefully that works out. Apparently if they can't fill it they give you a $10 off code, so it's win-win.
  3. I think I ended up paying around $99-100 for my WTT. It's really good, but still not $100-good. Just one of those things I saw and knew I had to have. But then again I'm also waiting to find MBDTF on sale somewhere like $30 is "too much" so I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrite. Yeah it's KanyeToThe.com and it's basically just a giant forum. Over the last few years it's gotten kind of crowded and not as good as it used to be, but its definitely still worth checking out. I pretty much only go in the Music section anymore. My username on there is "fcktheyanks".
  4. You go on KTT by any chance? I've been on there for years. Less often these days than before. Really excited to see him announced as the musical guest on SNL finale in a few weeks... new music must be really really close. Although I'm not excited to hear people like Chief Keef flying out to Paris to work with him. We'll see, though.
  5. I'm sure it would've been a better image if it was the A side (which it probably should've been)
  6. Got shipping confirmation last night for the South Park 7" but not Ready To Die... hoping I still get it.
  7. Yeah I'd say "Plain Sailing Weather" is my favorite. I do really like "The Way I Tend To Be" although I'm worried that it could blow up on the radio (it's the next single) and I'll get really sick it and of hearing everyone talk about it.
  8. This is really tempting... Great album. I'll have to get this and look around for a Violent By Design copy, too.
  9. Ugh, I was afraid that would happen but was hoping for the best... I don't have a shipping confirmation, but haven't had it cancelled yet either. I'll just have to wait and see.
  10. Just tracked my package and it's set to be delivered today... hopefully I ordered early enough to get my litho signed.
  11. I was able to grab both the South Park 7" and Ready To Die from Zia... Very happy now. Thanks for the tip!
  12. I feel the same way about Drake that most people feel about Kanye. I can't stand him as a person, but his albums always end up being really good. We'll see how this turns out. Lately I've been feeling more and more lukewarm about his music anyway, so I won't hold my breath for this one.
  13. I went 0/4 on Strictly, which was able to get me 3/3 last year... oh well. If anyone finds a reasonable priced South Park 7" or Ready To Die LP, let me know.
  14. Not sure how legit this is but... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190829734366#ht_1064wt_1189
  15. That radio edit can't be fake... there's too much of it that hasn't been released yet. and it works well as a "radio edit" version. I'm a little underwhelmed, but hopefully the extra 2 minutes on the album track gives it what it needs.
  16. I think "irrelevant" is a little harsh, but I totally agree that half of them (b-boy and graff) pretty much don't matter anymore and have almost no relation to the music. But I think that an artist showing some sort of knowledge and appreciation of hip hop history/where it all came from/the roots of a genre that they clearly care a lot about (or at least should), makes me more of a fan of them.
  17. I think the difference is that Trinidad James wouldn't even be able to tell you what the "4 elements of hip hop" are, and it shows.
  18. I've been waiting for this to get pressed since it was released... but I can understand how busy his label must be considering he's still indie and selling ridiculous amounts of music. The album is really really great. Thrift Shop was fun before it got popular (i think it's 5xPlatinum, maybe 6 by now) and played into the ground, and it sucks that people will write him off because of a goofy song like that. Most of the album actually talks about really serious thought-provoking stuff and the production is killer. I've been dying to see him live but now I'm afraid it'll just be thousands of high school girls in the crowd and ruin everything. And yes, he's no Slug (they're no Atmosphere) but nobody is. It's unfair to even try to make that comparison.
  19. I think England Keep My Bones was really good and really well done, but it was missing that feeling that older FT stuff gave me where it felt like he was in my head and writing about my life. This album has that again, and I love it.
  20. I heard she's going to be adding a THIRD Gillette Stadium show, which is just insane... but I hope true because I didn't ever grab tickets for one of the first two.
  21. Album leaked yesterday. I've only listened through the whole thing once but I really like it.
  22. If you are in the UK, you can get a free download of the track "Good & Gone" on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Good-Gone-Explicit/dp/B00C2P90Y8/ref=sr_shvl_album_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364905565&sr=301-1 Also, if you are in the UK and download it and don't mind sharing, it would be GREATLY appreciated. Not available to people in the US and hasnt' popped up on youtube yet. I'm dying to hear it.
  23. For me, I'm not too worried about the sound quality. I'm sure the Channel Orange bootleg sounds fine compared to what an official release would sound like (at least to most people). I would just rather not waste money on a bootleg if I think that there will be an official release, which I think will happen here. With Nostalgia Ultra, you can be almost certain that there will be no official release ever, so I'm buying the bootleg. The sound quality might not be as good as an official release would be, but it's the only way to get it on vinyl and I want it.
  24. There's some really cool stuff there, but it's hard for me to get excited about a random new Wu solo album, even if it is Ghostface. I'd guess that the album won't be good enough to be worth spending $24, nevermind $140. I like what GetOnDown has done with deluxe reissues of stuff that everyone already considers classic, but I'm less on board with these big deluxe editions of random new albums.
