  1. I like this record more every time I listen to it. The last two tracks are are the weakest of the lot for me, but the album definitely leaves me wanting more. So I am excited about the other two Acts. Additionally, I feel like this release, on top of the other Shiny O' so bright stuff, has left me feeling very happy with what they've released the last few years. When they broke up, I thought that was gonna be it. And as many misses are there have been since their reformation, it's great being able to see them live, it's great hearing newer songs like With Sympathy, Purple Blood, Save your tears, Schadenfreud, Butterfly suite that have really resonated with me and are just a bonus. not to mention oceania, and some stuff on Monuments. I think in time, people will once again give these albums due credit much like Zeitgeist receives these days. I saw them live last week and this band is essentially a different band. It sucks that the new songs don't feel as dynamic anymore, and that Jimmy feels under utilized lately. But that just makes me appreciate what we got back then. I still really enjoy this new stuff because I go into it not knowing what to expect. I haven't posted on the board in forever, but I feel like maybe others feel the same way I do regarding their new music.
  2. Came here to post this. Super excited for this news. Lost cities is one of my favorite albums, but all of them are solid. Confirmation of the reissues at the end of the article.
  3. I'll be pretty bummed if this is legit sold out 3 hours before it was advertised to be available. *edit. Yea pretty bummed.
  4. THIS is why i love this forum! So glad I don't have to spam F5 tomorrow morning when I'm supposed to be working.
  5. I love seeing Emma Ruth Rundle pop up. I sold her a guitar a few years back, and I guess she used it on "Marked for Death". Became a huge fan of hers after seeing Marriages.
  6. I dunno if this is something you'd be interested in... Actually, I'm not sure about the rules around the board for self promotion... Not that I make any money really. You probably know where I am going with this. I made a kind of weird album called MourningStar. I call my band Dumbhole. This album is instrumental, layered guitars and stuff. It's streaming everywhere so if you want to add it to your spotify playlist or something, it is available. Here's a link to my bandcamp. I make it a point to always make my music free. So that is why I am linking to it there. Anyway, I hope you like it. The less I say probably the better.
  7. I guess I will try to keep the staggered momentum going with a self indulgent album plug. I just released an album of 10 songs (43 min). It's pretty weird alt rock with a lot of layers, all instrumental. Hope someone out there likes it. Dumbhole - MourningStar
  8. Really tempted... but I think I am going to hold out hope for them to press The End of All Things to Come. It's really the only one of their albums that I want on wax.
  9. I am a huge fan of BC. I really respect his musicianship and I appreciate his, what I would arguably consider, "artistic integrity". As a person though, he seems really far removed from planet earth and I think this a good example of how disconnected he is. Is someone going to put on their fresh WPC trucker hat and their Zero t-shirt, and jam out to this record playing full blast with their new stylophone pocket synth? What's the demographic here? I would have bought this had it not come with all of the add-on crap and been 100 bucks cheaper. That is because I am a pumpkins fan. But the thing is, this will sell out. I am curious, to those who did buy it, why did you buy it?
  10. I saw a few bootlegs of Rotten Apples have been sold on ebay. I didn't know they existed. And they look really good. I was thinking about getting one for the hell of it if any more become available.
  11. I agree. But they appear to be selling. Pretty crazy.
  12. I read, sometime after the MCIS reissue came out, that the intended tracklist was the CD tracklist. I dunno what to believe though.
  13. All I care about is new music. Having a chance to see the original lineup would be great, but it'd be cool to just get that Iha magic and Chamberlain groove on another album. Maybe release one last album under the Pumpkins moniker and do the new band with Jeff going forward.
  14. I think they relocated there store from Scottsdale to this location. I know you weren't. I felt like mattisr1984 comment was condoning flipping. So I was kind of responding to that. After re-reading it, I understand his point.
  15. Well if i wanted it, i wouldn't have said anything. I've already got a copy. And im not greedy. I earn my money by not ripping people off.
  16. Well I had a few inquiries so I will post here. Turns out the store near me carrying MCIS sold it on Saturday 7/23. It was numbered 130XX. If you see someone from AZ flipping it on Ebay, make sure you give them hell.
  17. Doesn't appear so. It was the daily deal on Thursday 7/21. I only caught it by chance because I needed something fun to play with my nephew. Decided to pull the trigger for $19.99, but decided to check cheapshark website just to see if I could find it cheaper. Sure enough, Humble Bundle pulled through and my prayer was answered. Grudges were settled and many laughs were had while playing this game.
  18. Yea! I told the guy how amazed I was at seeing it at that price. He misunderstood, and said that a lot of people mention how expensive he has it priced. I told him NO WAY! That is a really good deal! I'm surprised he hasn't sold it online. The op has really held it's value since the reissue and considering there are something like over 18-20 thousand copies floating around.
  19. A record store just opened up near me, so I decided to pop in and see what they had going on. I was pretty blown away by what I saw. OP MCIS. Numbered. Official. Going for 150 bucks. Also saw a copy of Machina, which is really a beautiful package if you haven't seen it. I think it was around 70-80 bucks. I never thought I would run into these albums in the wild... I already own these albums or else I'd have bought them. And I was still tempted to get that MCIS. The place had some other really cool records, but not related to the pumpkins, so I won't mention them here. Anyway if you are in phoenix, looking for these, then check the place out. It's called the "Record Room" and it's on SE corner of Dunlap and the I-17.
