  1. Small developments, peripheral reveals caught out of the corner of the reader's eye, but what you've seen in the opening 50 pages is in large part what you'll experience for the rest of the novel. I quite enjoyed it when I read it years back, but I remember it not quite hitting the epiphany I kept expecting.
  2. I was kind of under the impression that all the Souls games had been that way - I remember that the Korean version of Demon's had full English support as well.
  3. Ah, fair enough. I haven't reached a point where I feel the need to wear the armor past the first time, so the need to test hadn't come up yet.
  4. I also read that if you stick an almost empty one into a generator (like the one you pull your first core out of) then it recharges. I haven't tested it, but it seems to make the issue pretty moot if true.
  5. I haven't gone back and picked it up, but I thought it came with 200 rounds? I read they're in dogmeat's inventory. Obviously still a limited commodity, but I heard it's decent to have for stronger enemies.
  6. Yeah, I've never played a MG game before, and V is fucking superb so far. Just get it and let the insanity wash over you.
  7. Pretty much exactly my reaction. I also really like watching discoveries develop over on reddit (I tried to only look at stuff that was behind me on DS2) and the guide not being out there will really amplify those discussions.
  8. GameStop too (have to buy the game as well though): http://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/consoles/nintendo-new-3ds-xl-majoras-mask-collectors-bundle/120301
  9. This was excellent. One of the best things I read last year (I'm a bit behind on my reading).
  10. That was probably my favorite of his, though my wife would argue that Austerlitz is better. I recommended it above, but if you dig Sebald you should give Perec's "W, or A Memory of Childhood" a try. Everything by Perec is great, but Sebald's stuff reads really similiarly to this particular one.
  11. It's so ridiculously good. I think classics need to be a really targeted recommendation, as some of the more florid language can be a real turnoff for a casual reader. I find most modern (post 1920's) stuff - even literary modern stuff - to be fairly accessible, barring some of the really experimental stuff (of which I'm a huge fan). Oh, on that note, let me add: Of Mice and Men - Steinbeck The Quiet American - Greene (pretty much anything by him, I just wouldn't start with The End of the Affair) Really recent: The Gift of Rain - Eng The Invisible Bridge - Orringer
  12. Why feel bad? He asked for the books you'd recommend, there's no shame in not revelling in the classics. If you like fantasy, my highest recommendation is for Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series. It's HUGE (almost WoT huge), but, to me, it surpasses all other epic fantasy series in basically every measurable way.
  13. Not ten, but the ones I always reccomend: Adventures of Kavalier and Clay - Chabon W; or, The Memory of Childhood - Perec You've got Murakami already. You might start with one of his earlier ones though, as everything he's done is great, but his earlier ones are a bit more accessible and shorter. Erasure - Everett John Henry Days - Whitehead Invisible Man - Ellison My two favorites, but they're not very accessible: The Canterbury Tales (Riverside Edition) - Chaucer Ulysses - Joyce
  14. This. On that last drop some of the posters hit the front page either well before the Posters page, or they never actually made the posters page (I can't remember if they ever showed up prior to selling out).
  15. This. Christ I'd love either of those on a current gen console. Basically would allow me to completely get rid of my PS3.
  16. He's saying there's another label under your rippled one - at least in his experience with this issue.
  17. You might reach out to Malignant (http://www.malignantrecords.com/catalog/) they tend to stock most Cold Spring releases.
  18. I liked Horns better, but it's pretty tonally distinct from his first. It's really, really darkly funny - which I really liked.
  19. Cool. I think the reviews have pushed me over to getting it, but my local rental store probably will have it, so I might just rent it for a week first and see where that takes me.
  20. Did you end up doing this? I'm considering picking this up this weekend - I need that DS itch scratched - and the reviews look promising.
  21. Awesome - thanks a bunch guys! I have 100 mailers shipping to me now, once they arrive I'm going to start moving stuff over to discogs - I'm in bad need of space and would like to get rid of the records shelves as quickly as possible. So that will probably start next week, and I'm likely loading stuff alphabetically. I'll probably take it slow at first to determine response (as I can only pack so much stuff a night), but this still will hopefully start moving pretty quickly, as I will certainly be trying to price competitively against what else is listed on Discogs. So if you want something from me on here, now is the time to hit me up - unless you want some Zappa or Zola Jesus or Zombi stuff, then you can take your time.
