I'm jealous. I'm hearing great things about the artwork, I'm excited for that which is odd. I just hope all the fans of What it Takes that don't follow all the singles/eps/splits embrace the new record since EE has changed so much.

They're having a great year. I had Special Explosion on repeat at work tonight. This LP is great too, kind of a weird thing to release though since it's not new (it is new-ish) or an old release from an established band on their roster.

In order for me to play my first record I had to take apart my dads old record player from the 70s and figure out how to get it to spin at a steady rate. After going through that and doing it right (I don't know how it happened, probably magic) I made damn sure that I knew how the rest of the process worked properly. I have no story, sorry.

Car loan interest is killing me, it's so fucking hard to build credit without co-signers and shit.

Fun fact: The Mars Volta's Frances the Mute is split up into 12 or whatever tracks instead of 5 on the CD because they would have only been paid for an EPs worth of material. I'm guessing major labels now have the track number mindset (obviously they didn't back in the 5 track prog rock days). Other than that it's up to the band whether or not they want it to be considered an EP or an LP. I have plenty records between 10-20 minutes that are considered LPs and plenty of EPs that are 20-30 minutes. Generally punk music falls in the short LP category while bands that normally have 45 minute LPs fall into the long EP category.

Mine too 'til "spring". It's already decided what my AOTY will be.
