I saw Red as almost an identity crisis. She has the mindless pop that she knows she has to write for radio, the country that she knows she has to have to keep her for fan base and label happy, but also a much more adult, almost indie feel.

Record Archive in Rochester has about 8 copies of the RSD Straylight Run.

I paid $8 for 3 items.

This solidifies Victory Records as the most lazy label. They've already been the proud holder of many other much more negative titles. I doubt they'll mind this one. But fucking for real. All 6 released are just clear with black smoke. And I ordered 2... So I'll take the idiot title today.

I guess. And I guess I would buy it too. But I wouldn't be happy about I and I'd feel as if I was being ripped off by a band I love. I'm not a big death cab fan, so this release doesn't affect me. I just know if I was a fan I'd be kinda upset.

I understand that, but I feel like it's never okay to use aftermarket prices to justify a new press price. Imagine if Jimmy Eat World repressed futures and charged $150 in their own way store. This board would be reaching for torches. $37 per LP straight from the source should be frowned upon.

In SRC's defense, all of their releases that I have touched this year have been VERY well done. They're definitely at the higher end of the market, in both cost and quality. If they could bring that cost down a few bucks per album I bet we would be singing praises rather than grabbing torches. Hot Topic will just release anything someone throws on a desk. They've done so much wrong this year that customers should justifiably be angry. That Hot Cash thing, while after a few months I can see why it needed to happen, was handled so poorly. It's still being handled poorly as they should have fixed what was being exploited and still made it available to us. Both companies just need to fix a few small issues and we'd all be happy consumers.
