Have any VCers gone to any of the shows of the tour Copeland is currently on? The setlists look great. Hoping to be able to convince my coworkers that I'm not needed in Michigan all next week so I can fly home Wednesday for their Madison, WI show.

I really wish I was making the trip down to Chicago for that show! But instead, Murder By Death is playing in my city so I gotta go to that. Plus, I have to fly to NY at 6:00am that Monday morning for work so I need all the post-concert sleep I can get. Hopefully they record the stream and throw it online to watch later.

This is badass, but I don't see myself going through the insane inconvenience to listen to the album on 7" records... I wonder if there is a "remaster" to the songs or what the source material for them will be.

The only difference I noticed is the added "reprisal" sounding stuff at the end of the two songs. They should've just had those on the album. I agree with the 12" being unnecessary, but it is nice to have those extended versions.

To chime in on the sticky glue situation - there were glue specks all over the exposed half (when it's in its slot) of the playable side (not the label side) of the bonus CD, but luckily not near where the two songs are located so ripping to digital was unaffected. I'm not sure I like this release enough overall to justify it's price. Oh well.

During True Love Waits, did you have a couple serious pop/scratch sounds, like serious enough that cleaning it won't help? I gave my copy a once-through listen without cleaning it and other than random little pops here and there, the ones that happened during True Love Waits were harsh..

I agree. Tracks 8 and 10 are the standouts for me.

Ha, yeah - they're nuts. And I saw that tweet earlier tonight. I wonder if the turnout will be even bigger in mpls. Maybe grab more newspapers and unload them here for $5 a pop or something to cover the gas you burned. I assume some VCers would be happy to pay that. They look really cool and would make a nice companion piece with the vinyl.

A friend of mine and his gf drove 3.5 hrs to Eau Claire just for that event tonight. Crazy. He did grab me an extra copy of that newspaper though. Free beers going his way next time I see him.

Yeah I agree with the above sentiments. I really just purchased the special edition in hopes that it's pressed to the level that the special edition IR was. For me, the cool artwork and packaging is just there to complement the music.

I have a friend dropping off a copy of the 12" single today that she picked up for me at the festival this weekend. I'll try to listen to it tonight and report back on how it sounds. I assume it's a black copy too, but we'll see! EDIT: Just listened to it. Sounds really good. Black vinyl confirmed.

This album is going to be insane. I can't wait.

Quick unrelated note: I saw them at Wayhome Festival this past weekend and they were a blast. Go see them if you have the chance.
