  1. They're playing in my city in September and I might go. Having never seen them (and haven't listened to them at all in 10+ years), are there songs/albums you think I should familiarize myself with before seeing them?
  2. I ordered it too. It should be here next week I think. Will update on how it was packed, how it arrived, etc. Also, hello fellow Wisconsinite lol
  3. Went to her Lolla aftershow at the Metro this weekend and it was such a good set. Would've been better if I could actually hear her most of the time instead of the audience singing EVERY SINGLE WORD even though I was right up front haha. It was still cool with how much energy her, her band, and the audience had though. Might be a top 5 favorite set of all time for me. She's a star.
  4. On a side note, I blasted this album while driving home from Chicago at 2:00am after going to the Kacey Musgraves Lolla aftershow. It felt like it kept me hyper-focused on the road ahead of me while flying down the empty interstate in the middle of the night haha.
  5. Thank you for taking the time to compare them. I'll def be going for the deluxe package if I decide to get a physical copy of this.
  6. I've been on the fence about getting a copy of this, but if the sound quality is on par with the In Rainbows deluxe, I will probably buy it. Please report back!
  7. The singles Pink & Blue and Japan both had instrumental versions released along side them, which are a bit diff than if the vocals were just taken away. Would assume the same goes for the other tracks that have vocals too. Interested to see how that release turns out.
  8. Def sad she's no longer a part of the band and I'm very happy I got to see her with them on the HUWD tour, but based on youtube vids I've watched, the lady who took her place for the Junk tour has got some pipes. Best example I can remember is her on vocal duty for when they'd play the Oblivion song. I felt like she did it justice (although that's Susanne Sundfor on that track) from watching those vids as they'd be uploaded during the tour.
  9. Looks like it's on Amazon UK. I'm considering ordering it based on the comments on its Discogs entry saying it's better than the US pressing. I don't think I've ever ordered off Amazon UK before. Does having a US Prime account mean anything, or can I just order it and pay shipping and whatever like a standard order?
  10. I gotta say that artwork is fucking great. The tracklisting in the teaser shows A, B, C, D sections but the preorder on Mute doesn't indicate it as a 2xLP. I hope it is, if it means a longer album length. Edit: I've been corrected below. That big paragraph on Mute's preorder page was too much for my attention span so I didn't bother to read the first two sentences lol
  11. Will most likely buy this to keep the collection intact, aside from some of the singles and those soundtracks other than Oblivion. Was watching a doc about the moon landing on PBS last night and they used Outro at one point, thought to myself I haven't listened to M83 in awhile, and boom this happens. Guess I'm going on an M83 kick again lol Edit: this was my 420th post ayyy
  12. He's played the majority of the songs live on the last tour, so just youtube the track titles to get an idea. Also, that bonus track was previously known as Two Feet off the Ground when played live, if you want to know what that sounds like too.
  13. If you're referring to Beating Heart Baby, the Chris Lord-Alge remix is included on Popaganda, which isn't that different from the mix on Decadance. But yeah, $50 for a repress of that album is too much at this point.
  14. Here's a screenshot of the Wiki page in case that changes too lol https://imgur.com/GNqX5NV Edit: I don't know how to embed a picture. Someone please do that for me!
  15. That was me. The wiki still says it, but in the "Background" section where it's referenced saying "they have been 'adapted for a bit more of an organic, indie rock template', with vocals from Saint Sinner on five of the album's eight tracks", that linked site on magneticmag.com must've changed because it doesn't mention it anymore... wonder if that has something to do with the initial backlash of vocals on pink & blue... the Tycho guy also made some post on the their facebook page talking about the reactions to that single so maybe something is happening.
  16. His press release mentions that the new song is different from the Dive, Awake, and Epoch trilogy, so it makes sense that this new album will be a departure from the trilogy as well, both sonically and aesthetically. I'm reluctant to the idea of a Tycho album with 5/8 tracks with featured vocals, but with that being said, I'd wager he's using this as a jump into the more casual mainstream EDM pop audience, and he will be bigger than ever because of it. Those airy breathy coffeeshop vocals are just part of that winning formula lol. I don't blame him at all for this way to find more success. I also think it would make sense if he appeases the long-time fans with instrumental versions too. Also a fun tidbit, when I fly for work, occasionally I'll hear them played on the radio inside the Delta planes sometimes when they have that on before or after a flight.
  17. I think someone said a few posts back that there is an open slip in the part 1 deluxe package that will be used to house the part 2 disc, which may also be a picture disc.
  18. Nice, thanks for the info! Does reserving a table cost extra on top of the ticket cost? Couldn't find anything mentioning it on the website. I most likely would just go for the open floor regardless, but would be good to know for future reference. Sorry to hear you'll be out of town for it!
  19. Are you going for tickets to the show at Park West? I haven't been there before, have you? If so, what's it like? Since it's 1000-person capacity, I'm thinking it will probably sell out pretty quick, but I'm wondering if they have the next night available to book a 2nd show if that's the case.
  20. IIRC, I think right before TMR ships the Vault packages they'll send out an email to request everyone double-checks to see if their address in their profiles are correct. I haven't subscribed for a year or so, so not sure if that's still the case. EDIT: Also, idk about that "virtual order" thing. Might be worth an email to TMR asking about that.
  21. I am! Agreed. Loved from first time I heard it however many years ago that was. I am one of those people haha. Loved it from the moment it was released, and listened to it the other day for the first time in awhile and still love it. I also agree! Haha. I know this may be blasphemous, but outside of Burst Apart, Undersea, and Familiars, I never really got into any of their other stuff, including Hospice. It's probably because Burst Apart was my first exposure to them and anything older than that hasn't really struck a cord with me. May be time I go back and listen to all that stuff again.
  22. Yep those are the ones I use too. Totally worth the $14. I've used them at least 20 times now so far. Just gotta get used to them "turning everything down" a little bit, but once that happens, it does make the music sound more "clear" in a way. And ear protection of course!
  23. Yeah, it's almost worse than wearing the band's shirt to their show. Lol jk, you're fine. In fact, I believe the common squishy disposable earplugs do a better "overall" job of protecting your ears because they filter all sound down to a safer decibel level, whereas some of the fancy musicians earplugs only filter down sounds at certain frequencies to allow more clarity on the sounds you do want to hear. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  24. I'm all about Next Level. It's similar quality to what I remember AA being (haven't bought any AA shirts in years). You can also find blanks for dirt cheap on Amazon. I always thought Gildan longsleeve shirts were great, but their heavy cotton t-shirts felt too thick, especially to wear in the summer.
