The Night House was good, but I got interrupted watching it a few times and was taken out of it. I feel like I need to give it another watch to fully enjoy it. Rebecca Hall's performance was pretty stellar. I think if you liked The Ritual, you'll enjoy this. It's less fun, but it's probably the better movie.

lol - I liked that one! Mostly the costume/makeup work though.
Funny! I think the polish was a bit of a problem for me as well. The rest looked like they were actually filmed on VHS and the 3rd one was really clean. I'm guessing you've seen it, but you might like Frankenstein's Army. 3rd segment reminded me of that a bit.

yeah, the wrap around was one big pile of nothing. Which one did you hate out of curiosity? (A number is fine if you want to avoid spoilers here)
It was the 3rd one, felt like I was watching a video game haha.

How was V/H/S/94?? Been really excited about it. 3rd one wasn’t great but those first 2 are so unbelievably good.
I watched it last night and feel pretty mixed about it. Liked two of the shorts, downright hated one and thought one was ok, but overstayed its welcome. The wrap around was a bit of a dud too. Still better than the 3rd one though.

Flanagan loves monologues, and he leans in heavy here on those;
I think this is my only real complaint with it. One or two is fine, but I was a bit tired of them towards the end.
That aside, I liked it quite a bit.

7" With a B-Side coming this Friday. Gold on Bandcamp, Clear w/ Splatter on Band Store, Red Smash on Tour.
I kind of got the impression it was the demos from the album with a B-side track. Picture looks like a 12" to me.

must be vinyl, because on itunes it's shown as November 19.
Hopefully that's true! I'm usually pretty patient, but 9 months to hear this would be rough.

I've really liked the two Midnight Mass episodes I've seen. I don't like watching more than 1 episode of anything a day, so it'll probably take me the rest of the week to finish it, but I'm pretty excited for the next ep. The desolate seatown is a nice change from the big houses of Bly/Hill House. Small aside, the sound design really messes with my dog, especially the bird sounds. He normally doesn't register TV at all, but this seems to get his attention.

Didn't think a 7" needed it's own thread.

Had a mostly good movie weekend!
Candyman (2021) - It has a bit of a rocky third act, but overall I liked it quite a bit. It's also gorgeous. The framing, cinematography and especially locations.
Gaia - Surreal eco-body horror, I dug it
Demonic - This was pretty bad, but also dumb enough that it was amusing. Blomkamp is turning out to be quite the one hit wonder.
Prisoners of the Ghostland - I don't even know what to say about this. It's so bizarre and entertaining. Worth a watch if you like out there cinema.

I watched Escape Room : Tournament of Champions yesterday afternoon and it was just ok. The rooms were pretty fun, but I didn't have any investment in the characters at all.

I'm curious to hear about Malignant as well! I've only seen a few James Wan movies (Saw and The Conjuring) and I didn't like either at all and it turned me off on him. I'm open to give him another chance though, I do dig giallo.

I've only seen Tetsuo for whatever reason, but this is a good reminder to look more into his work!
