AC4 - Burn The World LP Soon from Deathwish & Ny Vag
radiatorhums replied to jhulud's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I know the feeling. I got mine last week and still haven't gotten to it. I'll make that a goal this week. -
Had to wait until today (payday) to order it, only to find out it's not on sale anymore. Damn. Guess I'll wait until the next go around.

Which do you prefer: 7" or 12" singles?
radiatorhums replied to Daniel Dopp's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Agreed. -
I have the ones that are in my listening rotation or haven't been organized yet lean, but I try to keep the rest of them as vertical as possible. I'm usually more concerned about having them packed too tightly on the shelves.

What Vinyl Boxset would like to see Happening?
radiatorhums replied to Eti Of 1980's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Saw them the last time they did a West Coast tour and it was phenominal. Absolutely seeing them this time around too. In terms of box sets, I second whoever mentioned a Guided by Voices one. Either an LP set or a 7" set would be more than welcome (and absurdly huge). -
It doesn't justify it, but there is also no way to know specifically if we are getting 'gouged'. Being that it wasn't repressed by the original label (which has now closed up shop), it's hard to say what costs were involved in the licensing of the album. In terms of my mindset, I'm ok with it. I don't really like paying 32$ for a 2xLP, unnecesarily marked up or otherwise. But, I would also rather have the album on my shelf for that price than for $150. I would also have to say that this isn't the worst 'markup' that I've seen. Modern Fidelity's $30 pressing of Weezer - Blue Album seems like a much better example (but once again this falls under the umbrella of not auctually knowing what licensing costs were).

[PO] Deafheaven // Sunbather – 10 Year Remaster
radiatorhums replied to Derek™'s topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Deathwish does a pretty good job of sending out a newsletter email almost immediately after preorders go live. -
PO: Sigur Ros - Hvarf/Heim

That's fantastic news! I've been wanting a copy of this and there was no way I could justify the $80+ dollars the RSD release was going for. Thanks for the heads up! -
FT Deftones Live RSD + cash for Notorious BIG RSD
radiatorhums replied to chimpkin's topic in Sale/Trade/Wants
I don't have the PFP release, but I'd be happy to buy the deftones release if you want to get rid of it. -
I snagged the Doomriders split on black, Sister Faith variant and TP. Was really hoping that the Lords split was cheaper, oh well. Also ended up snagging the Temp Res variant of Sister Faith. Spendy day.

what's the most you've ever spent on a record?
radiatorhums replied to a topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I paid ~$80 for Cave In - Until Your Heart Stops. I normally don't go above $40-$50 and that's usually to fill in a collection gap. -
Am I being a dick or is this acceptable?
radiatorhums replied to donnybrook's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I think you've been more than reasonable about the whole thing. It comes down to the fact that the item was described as being in mint condition and should show up that way, no matter what you paid. On the plus side, PayPal sides with the buyer almost everytime. I haven't had a lot of issues of returning items, but I believe they covered the return cost also. You'll most likely be out time and some frustration. Best of luck on this.
