  1. Picked up the ...And Out Come The Wolves 7" pack on red vinyl today because my local record store had a set of them in. $12 for the set. I can't imagine listening to it more than once, but that seemed like a good price to me for half a dozen or so records.
  2. I think there's some legitimacy to it, but it really depends on how assholey the seller is about it. I mean, listing a Green Day record and tagging it with "screeching weasel rancid nofx jawbreaker nirvana lawrence arms" is just shitty. Which is something I see a lot of on eBay. It's all together different if you're tagging a Sundowner LP with "broadways lawrence arms". I think what I'm saying is that the key is to be tasteful about it, and not border on spamming. That's all.
  3. I picked a good day to visit the record store! They had apparently just bought some guy's whole collection, according to the girl at the counter. Lots of great punk, ska, hardcore stuff. I grabbed a few steals. $12. I had no real interest in these, because who wants to flip a half dozen 7"s to listen to ...And Out Come The Wolves? But for 12 bucks, I decided to jump on it. $8. Adding to my NOFX collection. Out of print, and I haven't seen it for less than like $35-ish anywhere. It's in perfect shape, basically mint, aside from the slight denting on the corners. On black. $3 each. Apparently they had the whole set, and some guy had just bought the other 4 earlier in the day. I don't have any of the others, but I'm excited about this because I've never seen them in a store before.
  4. The side projects thing makes perfect sense, but adding "Jawbreaker" (and others) to every auction for albums by Rancid, Green Day, Blink, Sum 41, and every other band where the seller says "this kinda sorta sounds like Jawbreaker if you plug your ears and hum" is just silly.
  5. Agreed. I hate that. If I'm looking for a Jawbreaker record I don't want to weed through 150 shitty pop punk band LPs just to find the band I searched for.
  6. Honestly, I'd be cool with a 6xLP box set that just looped Phantom Maggot like 90 times. But I'll happily settle for a little variety.
  7. Got here by googling as well. I found some "vinyl community" YouTube videos, and started looking for an associated website. I found this place instead, which is cool, because I like you guys' taste in music better anyway.
  8. Grr. At least I can take comfort in the fact that no one has Head Trip in Every Key. We're all on an even playing field there. =[
  9. Agreed about them getting better with each album. My wife is a huge fan of their whole catalog, though. When Young Modern came out she made sure we got a copy of it on vinyl, for which I'm thankful now (I think it qualifies as the rarest record in my collection). Of course, it just makes it even more annoying that I'll never get a copy of Diorama until the (hopefully) inevitable reissue.
  10. Ooh, thanks. I haven't seen it in stock from any other online stores. For 12 bucks I'll probably just grab that now to hold me over while I hunt around for a copy on blue.
  11. Thanks, but while Greatest Story is still easy to come by (on black), Oh! Calcutta! is annoyingly out of stock all over (even on black, but I'll likely splurge on a blue copy when one shows up on EBay.)
  12. I just followed the @vcboards account. I'm @jakevance
  13. Here's my meager Lawrence Arms + side projects collection. I've only really just started looking out for Larry Arms vinyl. I missed out on a copy of Guided Tour of Chicago on (i think) orange vinyl for $10 at the record store because I didn't have the cash on me. It was gone the next day =[ Next on my list are Oh! Calcutta! and Greatest Story Ever Told.
  14. I found some rustic looking metal and wooden crates/baskets perfectly sized for holding 7"s at Homegoods, actually. Also, My wife recently picked up some nice looking solid colored cardboard-y photo boxes from Target that are also sized just right for 7"s. I was using one of those until it eventually wore out and started to tear. The metal and wooden ones will hold up much longer, I expect.
  15. Oh man, thanks. I'm definitely going to pick one of those up. I actually need a vertical one 1x2 to complement the 4x2 where most of my records live.
  16. Tonight Tonight sounds different due to the remaster, or do you just mean as a result of hearing it on vinyl rather than CD?
  17. IKEA definitely has 2x1 Expedits? In America? Because it's not on their website and they never answer the phones. If they definitely do, I'm heading out ASAP to pick up a couple of them. Anyone know the price?
  18. I'm closest to the Garden State Plaza one as well, but their selection is pretty limited. I can usually go in with 80 bucks and clear out everything I'm remotely interested. Which is basically what I do once every few months. I should trek up to Willowbrook and check out their selection some time soon. It's close enough to SoundExchange that it's easy enough to make a day of it.
  19. It's a damn shame that Superdrag's Head Trip In Every Key has never gotten a vinyl pressing.
