  1. Never taken part in Black Friday before (UK). Is it as busy as regular RSD?
  2. There's nothing you can do about flipping, but having a 1 per order system obviously reduces the problem. Why are people complaining about people complaining about the 2 per order policy?
  3. I don't understand why Mondo allows people to buy two copies for limited releases.
  4. Licenced = music not created for the film.I forgot about Drive. I pretty much associate the music used with the film. Lol. If you just want the music, nothing is stopping you from buying the two versions of this record that already exists.
  5. Damn this is a nice surprise. Glad I held off from buying this record. This is the first Mondo release to contain licenced music right? Hopefully this means more soundtracks (rather than original scores) in the future. Yea the price is high.. But unlike the Looper record, at least people have the option to buy a standard version of this record if they wanted to.
  6. It seems like they used a similar method to the Greener Grass record. Red on clear probably makes the most sense.. It just would have been better if they mixed it with another colour.
  7. Yep. Previous liquid filled records have looked alot better .
  8. I don't think Death Waltz have announced an exact date yet.. but I remember reading that subscribers would get the record 2-3 weeks early. I'm not sure if it's been confirmed before, but the obi also says the remaining 2014 releases will include The New Barbarians, A Lizard in a Woman's Skin, Big Bad Wolves, The Innkeepers and Fizzy 2 Fulci.
  9. The point is that the business wasn't exactly in a rush to release records like Jurassic Park and 2001: The Lost Score which is what's great about these boutique labels. They obviously release a few average records, but as others said, the bubble bursting simply means less releases in general. Whether or not you think these soundtracks are for 'music purists' (lol) is another discussion.
  10. Or it could mean labels like Mondo stepping out of the vinyl business altogether.
  11. I don't hate the cover art.. but this is one of those cases where the original poster art is so much better.
  12. My sub copy of House of the Devil just arrived. I'm disappointed it's a picture disc.. I might have to trade this for the standard release.
  13. Maybe some copies looked better than others, but for the most part.. retail copies looked pretty different from the original promo pics.
  14. The packaging is pretty cool.. But in the end I can't believe I just paid £30 extra for a pretty cool gimmick. I guess the problem is suckers like me who still give Mondo money.
  15. The fact that the packaging is hand made makes me wonder how many copies were made.
  16. I just think all this information about future releases should just be displayed on the first post. Then rename the thread.. Mondo Thread - Iron Giant | Looper etc.. (Information on Page 1)
  17. That price is insane. I would have no problem with a 'deluxe' version if a cheaper version without the special packaging was also available. What were the prices like for the other Mondocon items?
  18. Has there been a single Death Waltz release that was hard to get? I know The Fog sold out instantly.. but even then it was re-pressed a couple months later.
  19. Strawberry swirl looks impressive. They really got the Cornetto design spot on
  20. The way Death Waltz currently handles variants is perfect. It will be weird if they keep the Mondo format. Subscription Variant, Black Vinyl Variant, Standard Coloured Variant, Web Store Variant.
  21. Subscription packages is the number 1 thing I hope will happen with this deal.Spencer being in charge of both labels is huge news. I'd be surprised if he doesn't transfer the great stuff about Death Waltz over to Mondo (subscriptions, packaging, mp3s)
  22. Has there been any news about the U-Turn being available outside the US? I'm looking to buy a cheap second turntable. I'm pretty much looking for anything that isn't gonna destroy my records.
