  1. Didn't expect this today! Standard and Deluxe available. http://www.mergerecords.com/beat-the-champ
  2. Bump. I was thinking of picking this up, but then I saw some reviews that say it sounds like garbage. Any thoughts?
  3. I get the feeling that Fred Armisen is a little jealous of not being in Sleater-Kinney. Which is fine, I mean, everyone should be jealous of not being in Sleater-KInney. Also, this needs to ship. Seattle is a long way from Boston!
  4. Seriously can't get enough of this. Is that BASS on "A New Wave"?
  5. Too much good new music today! First 250 are colored. http://www.mergerecords.com/ivy-tripp New Song: http://pitchfork.com/news/57817-waxahatchee-announces-new-album-ivy-tripp/
  6. Stream is up on NPR. Holy SHIT is it good. http://www.npr.org/2015/01/11/376085344/first-listen-sleater-kinney-no-cities-to-love
  7. That was fast. I'll check the Newbury near me to see if they have any when it's released. If not, I'm not going to lose sleep over getting it on black. I just really want this.
  8. YUP. Newbury is where I bought all my CDs growing up (it was always cheaper than Sam Goody or whatever else was at the mall), and their vinyl selection is one of the reasons I started collecting back in the early 00s.
  9. Eh, call me a sucker, but I might pick this up in store if they have any left. I actually don't own it for whatever reason and this looks pretty cool.
  10. Woo! I emailed a liquor store near me and they're going to hold a case for me when it comes in (they said should be within two weeks). I'm guessing it will be around $60, since that's what the Juliana Barwick one cost.
  11. In Memphis, definitely check out Sun Studios and the Rock n' Soul Museum. I've only driven past Graceland, but my wife is from Memphis and claims it's overrated and not as ridiculous as you'd hope. Shangri-La Records is a must. I found so much cool stuff there, like some original Replacements LPs for not that much money. Also, stop by an Interstate Barbecue and get some BBQ Spaghetti. I haven't spent much time in Nashville, but Third Man is neat and worth a stop. Also, get some hot chicken at Bolton's.
  12. Out 1/20: http://kingsroadmerch.com/epitaph-records/ Looks like only black is available, which seems odd for Epitaph. Sounds good to me!
  13. I don't know how mine got here from LA so fast, but the swirl is really nice looking. Excited to give it a spin!
  14. I think Corin is the stronger vocalist, but Carrie is the better guitarist. You need both of them (Janet too)! I'm not exactly a Portlandia superfan, but I don't know what has to do with S-K. She's found success doing something she enjoys and still has time to make awesome music (Bury Our Friends is proof of that).
  15. Got a signed one! http://instagram.com/p/uePIbUrnh1/ I've only listened to The Hot Rock so far, but it sounds fantastic.
  16. Ordered the deluxe, will be getting Boston tickets this weekend. JUST TAKE MORE OF MY MONEY.
  17. Someone mentioned that the Coachella lineup gets announced around then, which would make me considerably less excited.
  18. It's real! http://www.stereogum.com/1712543/sleater-kinney-box-set-comes-with-a-new-song-marked-12015/news/ New album on 1/20/15? I mean, it is a Tuesday...
  19. I thought this was fantastic. I went to a reading/Q&A with him last night and it made me appreciate it even more. Highly recommended, and it's a quick read that you can knock out in like two sittings.
