Can't understand why people are questioning Buffbloom for weighing his records. Definitely not something I would do unless I was suspicious I received an incorrect weight but I sort of like when I check the thread of a record I bought and he posts the weight of it.

My guess is that they intended to do cream, and accidentally mixed in clear pellets instead of white, or too much clear/not enough white. The "formula" for the cream color, if you will, was wrong.
With that said, when the pellets go into the extruder, the proportions of the different pellets can change somewhat for each biscuit, leading to the variations you see from record to record in a colored pressing. Assuming that they did in fact put the correct pellets in there, and only the proportions are off, it is not entirely unreasonable to believe that there may have been one or two pressed that came out more "cream" than "creamed in Mountain Dew".

It just occurred to me that some of my vinyl are different colors.

They shouldn't. Years passed I between that song and this album. Would be out of place here. Good song though

At least four I'd like to pick up from all this. Mike, if you could update what color the American Art 2XLP will be if/when you find out that would be excellent.

It's dissappointing reading the Modern Vinyl interview to hear his take on getting it pressed. I mean, count me in for NEW Cassino getting pressed. But also I'm a fan of consistency and it would irk me to have a hole in their vinyl discography. Especially with that hole being arguably their best album, as shamrock said. Also, the pre SoS demos have so much feeling and for me would be well worth owning on physical. Still among the most played songs in my iTunes library.

Vinyl thrives because the current wave of independent artists care about the format and because there is money to be made by pressing their albums. This release isn't going to change that. I'm not thrilled about the price, but this is Blink 182, not SR-71. You can't pay $15 to get tickets to see U2. They're going to charge big league money because this is a "big league" band. I'll change my opinion when the new Wonder Years album on a single LP retails for $35.
