  1. Same here. But I myself can be somewhat guilty of getting stuff that I don't listen to solely for the possibility to trading it for something I want...case in point: I tried to get that Converge/AN clear wax but was too late though...
  2. I just thought of something else...do people here buy vinyl for the sake of collecting it and trading for ones they want, or do they actually like/listen to those bands?...I've known some people (not here though) that have bought vinyl of bands they don't even listen to in order to use for trades...to me it's kind of a waste of money because there is never 100% guarantee that they will be able to trade or even sell that piece...
  3. i think it's just as good just very different. I actually thought it would be heavier without casey instead the got softer. It lost some of the punch the band had with their first release. It's still good. I liked it.
  4. I've got a boatload of vinyl coming in the next few weeks...I think I am going to lay off for a while...it's hurt the wallet big time! Yikes!
  5. All the ones that I'd like to see in wax have already been mentioned...oh well...
  6. Minus The Bear 'Planet of Ice' 2x12" clear w/ magenta. Picked up an extra copy for a friend at my local record store. I was quite surprised they had it because lately their vinly selection sucks. They also had (which I didn't get): Against Me! 'New Wave' 12" yellow Remembering Never (new one I think) on 3 different colors.
  7. I think this thread could run parallel to the "Do you play your records or not" one. My inquiry is simply this: In the sole aspect of collecting vinyl (and let's completely forget the listening aspect of it), do you guys prefer to keep records sealed or unsealed? And why? Let the discussion begin!
  8. Cleaning out the closet...slowly but surely...including a dress left by the ex-girlfriend...it's either eBay and make some money off or burn it! Anyways...buy my crap...pretty please! http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZjhulud
  9. I'm going to their show here in October...I'll check and maybe pick some up...
  10. Jeff...you are correct, the 'Holiday EP' was only 1,000...sent out to Street Team members for free...all that had to be paid was shipping...I have seen copies of it go for as much as $400...granted they were sealed...I personally think it's ridiculous to pay that much...but whatever...the songs themselves are easily obtained off fansites and torrent/p2p dowbload sites.
  11. I have gotten them from Bags Unlimited...solid place to shop.
  12. Saw this little blurb as part of a write-up for an eBay auction...very fitting to share it with the board: "Give your ears the bleeding they're needing and select the artist's choice - vinyl. VINYL RECORDS - Vinyl records are able to capture the purest quality of recorded music in true form. This is possible because the initial recording is captured on an analog source (usually tape) for the ultimate in High Fidelity sound, it is then pressed onto virgin vinyl. Analog recordings capture the bottom end (or bass) while adding sweetness to the high end (or treble) better than any digital recording ever could. Analog systems are still commonly used before they are digitally transferred to CD. This means that the sound then is altered in the transfer process when CD's are produced. The word fidelity means accuracy and faithfulness. High Fidelity sound is faithful to the original sound made by the artist, capturing maximum accuracy of what was intended for the listener to hear. Vinyl records capture those sounds for the ultimate High Fidelity listening experience!"
  13. This is a repress, right?...What are the pressing #s on this then?
  14. I'm still waiting for mine (and ITAOT) from Robotic Empire...all good though...
  15. It was devastating for about 5 seconds...then I was like "oh well, it happens"...
  16. I was perusing my copy of Isis' "In The Absence Of Truth" (Daymare Recordings version) and noticed these oh-so-lovely splits in the sleeves: (I couldn't figure out my paint pro tools to draw circles around the splits but hopefully you can see them in the pic) I took the vinyl out and put them in plain paper sleeves to avoid further splitting...
  17. I don't like the Blood Brothers at all but I can definitely appreciate a piece of vinyl like that. Sweet!
  18. I haven't heard jack and shit...I was just over at the BN street team message board earlier today and the last active post on this topic was from last year. They were all being naysayers. I am hoping that it does eventually get put out on vinyl...hell, I have seen bands wait years before doing so for a release...just like TOOL did for 'Lateralus'....
  19. I have previously gotten 10" supplies from Bags Unlimited.
  20. Hey man...I appreciate that you posted this info...can't win 'em all.
