  1. I should definitely give the past few albums a real chance. I'm looking forward to this, too. I just really, desperately need them to repress This Desert Life on vinyl.
  2. I can't believe I just bought this... Tower Records' variant and their phenomenal $2.98 media mail option got me interested, but honestly the single sold me. As someone who plays their first 3 albums quite frequently, listened to Hard Candy quite a bit as a kid but not so much as an adult, and hasn't really ever given the other albums much airtime... the new single is pretty enjoyable. It feels the tiniest bit off in a few places, like they're trying to be the Counting Crows - which I realize is absurd, but pretty good overall. I'm in to give it a shot - best case it's good and we'll have future suite(s) to look forward to, worst case it's terrible but at least I get to have a 12x12 piece of cardboard with that beautiful album art in my house.
  3. 😲😲😲😲😲 wow. whoever buys this should consider it a bundle with the cat scan they desperately need.
  4. not sure what was in the original post. but you can go to centerspect.com and see just how terrible this idea is firsthand, as well as the previous 2 ideas which included a tiny backpack, and a magnet tie clip. I can whole-heartedly endorse the centerspect 45 adapter as the ugliest, worst example of the "hand curated" vinyl market in existence. Thing looks like it fell out from under my sink, or I found it by the washing machine one night. Looks like absolute trash. Terrible idea. Delete the website while you are at it and get a job. This is horrible. I hope you come back here and see this comment and re-think your plans for the future.
  5. mine showed from BM today - sounds great. silver remains top 2 worst variants for vinyl, but at least it sounds good. happy to own this, finally, and sing it as loud as possible.
  6. Came here to post this. I don't even really listen to Pig Destroyer that much but I had to order this... this is borderline the cleanest sounding live mix I've ever heard in my life - and from a grind band no less. Album sounds great.
  7. they just tagged vinylfantasybk.com as one of the stores that would have this in stock - but, said "in a few weeks" - not sure that helps but figured i'd share.
  8. Yeah Digital Prison is the place to be. Can't wait for the full length they've got coming this year. Glad I picked up a splatter, show has insane intensity. Cool listen, probably not destined to be my most spun FoH release by any means, but happy to support them doing what they do. edit: album's up on spotify (and bandcamp, I believe) in case anyone was looking for it:
  9. Hmmmm short of a Clear Pink / Clear Teal merge that somehow came out amazing I can't imagine better variants. Clear Pink for the warm melting ice sensation Clear Teal for the cool chill feeling of melting ice Clear Grey merge for that "black ice" feeling Wouldn't go gold or purple, but that's just me.
  10. buncha variants out for this one. pink translucent at Newbury coke bottle clear at TTL VMP has a grey/clear merge
  11. Yeah, you're right all around. I'm not a big remix guy, even on an album like this where the songs are already basically remixes so they usually work well in that format, or at least better than when rock-oriented projects release a mini list of "remixes". The standard US spotify mix definitely isn't a deal breaker. For me, I would have been happy spending $80 if I could get the old mixes, just for the sake of "authenticity" or hearing it how I originally did - but you're definitely not wrong at this point that it's very confusing with this release and I don't even remember some\most of the differences anymore. I guess what I'm saying is if there was a anniversary version that wasn't deluxe that just had the original songs + new art for $40-$45 I'd probably swing for it? But that additional $40 for a playlist of remixes I will legitimately spin one single time, just can't do it.
  12. Excited for all of you who are interested in the total package, and the remixes and all. But, seems pretty clear to me that these aren't the OG samples. They would have said something. If I'm wrong, I won't eat my hat or anything - I'll just be sad I don't own it.
  13. looks like 4 copies left of Weeping Sores - False Confession on clear with splatter, if you hurry. non-mint jackets put up after a trip around the world, apparently. https://riffmerchant.bandcamp.com/album/false-confession-2
  14. Teeth the Size of Piano Keys was such a banger, too.
  15. Mannnnn getting tight out there, feel like this will be sold out everywhere. Still, I cannot convince myself to pull the trigger without knowing for certain that this is the original mix.... I have a deep-seated fear that the delay was attempting to clear samples for US/global distro -> failing -> repressing the 'deluxe' with the US plates + remix plates. Crossing my fingers for all of you who already ordered that I'm the one who misses out and these are actually fresh presses of the OG sample mixes.
  16. I will end up buying it eventually, probably. But man, $33 shipped is rough.
  17. Yes, the proper combination is reading anything by Sebald and spinning anything by Kirby.
  18. so, you need to put it in a safe IMMEDIATELY. Minimum of 6 inch thick stainless steel 316L gauge, submarine steel if you can find one made in that material. Inside the safe itself, place the signed record inside an airtight, vacuum sealed container. MAKE SURE no physical part of the album is touching ANYTHING else. Construct a room in your house which will be the main holding area - you'll need to construct some ramparts in case anyone comes by sea, and some trenches or a moat in case they come for it by land. The room should be at least 25x25 in dimensions - and be sure to spring for the most expensive HVAC system you possibly can - you have NO IDEA how much value your record will lose if even a DROP of humidity touches it. Once you've got the room built and kitted out with the latest and greatest in humidity and temperature control - dig a shaft a MINIMUM of 50 feet deep. You'll need to hire a contractor who can install steel reinforced sides on this shaft so you are not at an increased risk from someone trying to tunnel in and steal the record. Lower the safe, with the record inside, down the shaft slowly - resting on the bottom where it has been stabilized against tectonic movement, earthquakes, etc. Once the safe is safely (haha) at the bottom, you're going to want to fill in the shaft with concrete. Don't worry, the record is perfectly safe if you've followed the rest of this guide -- but this is THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP in making sure this record never sees the devilishly destructive UV rays of the sun or the horrific harm of humidity damage. If you want to display it, make sure you take a picture (flash OFF!!!!!!!!!) before completing the above steps - then frame the picture.
  19. Yeah, judging by the email looks like these were "shipped" but not "shipped". Accepted at Post Office today, and tracking email received so good news. Looking forward to finally having a copy of this.
  20. haha. this will be listed elsewhere, probably, right? Saw the price tag and said hey cool I'm gonna buy this. And then shipping was $12.84 lol.
  21. I practice typing in my email address, mailing address, credit card number, expiration date, cvv and zip code in all my free time, over and over - training for release dates.
  22. My confirmation email is timestamped 1:00pm exactly - so, less than 60 seconds from drop to confirm. After STD I wasn't messing around 😅
