His part is horrible; it totally ruins the song.

nardes reacted to adamchristopher in Urban Outfitters Exclusive Vinyl & Sale Discussion
To address the spotty/shitty shipping issues (if it hasn't been already), Urban sends orders out from stores in an effort to cut down on shipping times. When you order an album, and it comes up on "pack & ship," you're at the mercy of whatever employee is filling orders at that store. I can't speak to how things are packaged at other stores, but mine has vinyl mailers. We also don't allow anyone who isn't in management to package orders. There are stores with employees and management who are fellow record collectors and give a shit. If you're getting things in plastic mailers, or albums just thrown in boxes, I can guarantee it was filled in a store that isn't properly instructing its staff.
The easiest way to tell if you got a record from a store is to check and see if it has a small price sticker that is also a sensor. Albums from our record distributers and warehouses will never have a price sticker/sensor.
If an order got sent to you in substandard packaging, and it's from a store, I would urge you to call the customer service line and complain. Every pack & ship order has an employee name attached to it, and complaints do get sent to the store that sent it out. You can also order from the customer service line and tell them you don't want anything sent from a retail location. I think the more attention gets brought to the care of records at the store level, the better.

nardes got a reaction from passionbrand in Fall Out Boy - Pax Am Days
I found my local record store had an extra copy, and I picked it up to see if anybody wanted to buy it that maybe missed it. I'm asking $20ppd (covers the cost, $15, and shipping)
Let me know if you're interested

nardes got a reaction from passionbrand in Mumford and Sons - Wilder Mind
"On their new album, Wilder Mind (out May 4th), Mumford & Sons have mostly removed their signature elements – banjo, acoustic strumming, stomping kick drum – and replaced them with U2-sized guitars, synths, spacey mellotrons and even some drum machines. "We felt that doing the same thing, or the same instrumentation again, just wasn’t for us," says frontman Marcus Mumford. "We’ve got a broader taste in music than just that." Adds Dwane, "None of us had really any interest in doing a sort of Babel 2. It was always going to be different.""

nardes got a reaction from passionbrand in PO: Cartel - Chroma (10 Year Anniversary Band Pressing) - 2/4
I just want to say how disappointed I am the Atlanta show is not at The Tabernacle... which is actually on Luckie St.
Sure the tickets would've been more, but to me it would've definitely been worth it!

Vocally... Taylor sounded fantastic.
Wish it would've had a more stripped down sound to it... but that trumpet sounded FANTASTIC!

nardes reacted to toomanyrecords in PO: Cartel - Chroma (10 Year Anniversary Band Pressing) - 2/4
"While we were hoping that this would be only a minor setback and that we would still have the records in time for the beginning of the Chroma tour, due to Record Store Day forcing record plants around the US (and the world) into operating beyond maximum capacity, we are now being told that our records won’t be getting sent out to us until mid-May at this point. We asked if there is ANY way for us to get the records before then, even if that meant paying extra out of our pockets, but we’ve been told there is no way to speed this up. We are extremely disappointed, but since it is something that is out of our control, we are trying to accept that fact and work with what has been handed to us."
It's technically "mid may" tomorrow. Why not wait until the end of the month to throw up your pitchforks?

I am impatient when it comes to my money.
I gave them my hard earned cash and got nothing in return.
enjoy waiting and act surprised with the excuse they give you at the end of the month when there is no record in hand.

For a Taylor show, I'll guess:
70% Homemade Taylor Shirts
10% Legit Taylor Shirts (I'll throw my Bad Blood shirt in this category)
10% Flower Dresses
5% Moms in plain colored shirts from Gap
5% Dad's in Hawaiin shirts

You waited 10 years for a vinyl issue why are you in such a hustle to get the record? It'll come when it comes.
Their show in LA was fantastic, the crowd was into it, I was like 5 feet from the stage and they sounded great.

As a guy in his 30s, who cares what people at the mall think of you for walking into a store to buy something you want? Is this really something people think about?
I go into HT stores all the time and obviously no one in there knows I work for the company. There's always people in there shopping that are older than me and literally no one cares how old you are when you go into that store or any other store. Seems like a really silly thing to even think about.

nardes reacted to Jarrod in FOR SALE: TAKING BACK SUNDAY DEMO CD'S (2 QTY) & FIRST EVER T-SHIRT
I'm starting to realize why I've always collected privately. Its hard to relate to the maturity of many forum collectors. I'll sell them elsewhere. Thanks anyway.

If we could keep this topic focused on the sale of the items, it is appreciated.
