RyanSmithers replied to nathan_s82's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Sweet. I like this soundtrack a lot. And I was really happy with the Days of Future Past pressing so I will definitely pick this up.- 5 replies

Saw this again. Knowing everything that would happen the second time round I ended up enjoying this even more the second time. Not perfect by any means, but super fun.

I liked Colossus and Deadpool a lot. But First Class and DOFP are both excellent movies and I love the casting of McAvoy and Fassbender. I do not want a reboot. I was very worried about Apocalypse being bad, but I don't mind how Apocalypse was adapted from the comics at all. Sure, it's very different. But so is Jackman's Wolverine from the comics. Idk. Just my two cents but I think the franchise is in a perfectly fine place right now. I'm very excited to see if they adapt X-Force and combine that with Deadpool. That'd be rad.

Totally agree...if you like Xmen, and sci fi, then you'll love it. DEFINITELY not an X3 situation, not as good as days of future past, but really good still.

Saw Apocalypse last night and was pleasantly surprised. Honestly thought the movie was great. Jean Gray, Nightcrawler, and Quicksilver were probably my favorites. Gotta see it again.

PO: Thrice - To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere
RyanSmithers replied to joneboon's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
The only song I'm having a little bit of a tough time with on my initial listens is Stay With Me. Just doesn't feel like Thrice to me. Wake Up is also a little tough but I think I like it. Feels like a lot of songs are getting stuck in this "mid-tempo" and streamlined songwriting approach that used to be more rare for them. I don't know. I really like it but I'm not sure I love it. -

If you're delaying on the blue version, better jump as it's only showing 6 available to put in the cart... http://www.impericon.com/en/periphery-periphery-iii-select-difficulty-light-blue-colored-2-lp-cd.html- 69 replies

Do people not like Juggernaut? I thought it was great. I like P2 as well. Didn't realize people didn't like Juggernaut so much....- 69 replies

One time through and so my thoughts are kind of strange....It definitely "sounds" like Saosin, but it's not really what I "thought" it would sound like. Haha. In my mind, it sounds like what Saosin with Anthony "should" sound like after 13 years, but we just never got to hear the transition, so maybe I just wasn't ready for it? Haha. Overall, I like the album. It's not what I thought, but at the same time I don't really know what I thought it would sound like and sometimes that's a good thing. I'll definitely listen more times and let it sink in. What I do know is that it's not a situation where I'm trying to convince myself that I like it, I definitely like it, but just not "how" and "why" I thought I would. More slow burners on here than I thought there would be.

PO: Silent Planet - Everything Was Sound
RyanSmithers replied to Billich0986's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Wow...that was really good. Interesting choice for a first single, but still awesome. You can just hear the sincerity and passion in his voice. You can tell it's very real and personal to them. Great stuff...only ups the anticipation level! -

Went with All in Merch and did the green swirl mix as it says it's more limited and it's cheaper than the same exact item on Merchnow. Total came to $19.11 including media mail shipping. Now that's awesome! stoked for this! -
I was late to the game on this but I love it! Ordered the Killer Merch variant. Can't wait to get it!

Killer merch variant won't let you add to cart. Says sold out -
Not what I meant, but in interviews Mark and Travis stated how the band started as an electronic band and a lot of those things are still there in the album. Obviously it's not a "dance or electronic" album, but those influences are there in almost every song. This on the other hand has none of that feel in it to me at least. Just my two cents.
-
Eh, I'm not hearing the +44 stuff at all except that Mark is singing it and you don't hear Tom's voice. +44 had a much bigger dance and electronic sound to their songs which is completely absent in this. The guitar in this sounds like Blink, pre-neighborhoods right down to the fact that it sounds like it could even be a fender in the opening verse guitar parts.
