Jackie Brown OST on 180g yellow vinyl coming out via Rhino's "Start Your Ear Off Right". (The link to the actual album doesn't work, it goes to Bad Company for some reason.)
EDIT - On Bullmoose for $20 with release date of 1/19.
May be my favorite soundtrack to a Tarantino film. I wish there was a black vinyl version though.
I want that purple/yellow, but the shipping from Invada is obscene.
This score worked well within the context of the film, but when I tried to listen to it on its own, it just didn't move the needle.
Really want the Bone Tomahawk #/250 splatter from Invada.
Just can't stomach a $44 payment for it. Damn.
Does anyone know if there is a standard version coming?
Picked up the Hateful Eight OST at my local shop for only $25. I have to say this may be the nicest vinyl presentation out of any record I own. To copy and paste from Third Man's site.. "Double 180 gram LP. Tri-fold reversible jacket with soft-touch finish. Includes 60” x 12” poster, 36” x 12” poster, and a 12-page booklet insert with stills from the movie." The soft-touch feels so cool and the first record I've had with that kind of finish on a sleeve.
I read somewhere that there would be a special edition coming from TMR. There is some wacky version from Universal music that is outrageously expensive, but nothing from Third Man yet.

Alright. So the news is:
No colors, no variants.
I was told "These are to be 100% faithful to the originals"
Not even bummed about it, honestly.
Just got the email from Arbutus about these. $20 ppd each.

Halfaxa: http://arbutusrecords.com/?shopp_product=grimes-halfaxa
Darkbloom split EP: http://arbutusrecords.com/?shopp_product=grimes-d
This is exactly how I'd like them to be. Affordable, black vinyl. Ordered.

Is anybody here going for STII tomorrow? I rarely go for orchestral scores, but I really like this one.
-
I think this and Tina Brooks "True Blue" are going to be my next two purchases.
True Blue is excellent. One of the first MMs I picked up. Plus, Hubbard!
I'll just toss this here, but the RSD Miles Davis Prestige box is fantastic. It's so well made. Sounds fantastic. Sleeves are great. Pressings are quiet.
IMO it's an underrated era for Miles. There are must gets though. Highly recommended.
I must look into this. How comprehensive is it and is this box limited or are there loads about?
-
On the MM front, really looking forward to Ike Quebec's Blue and Sentimental.
-
Don't apologize at all, friend. I really appreciate the thought. Keeping my eyes peeled as well.Sorry about that Whip Wilson. I'll continue to keep an eye out for any other locations that might have it.
I can't believe that this pressing would be THAT limited such that it is completely sold out everywhere (except for secondary market)...

If anyone is still looking, they have this on Barnes & Noble with shipping in 1-2 weeks. It could be a long shot maybe worth a try.

RPM
That's been up for a while plus they cancelled my order twice. I don't think they're getting it in.
-
Neither actually. It is a completely new score from Umberto and Antoni Maiovvi. Not the original. Though the Hook and Pull Gang needs reissued.
A few months back, DWRC said they plan on reissuing it as a trimmed down, single LP release.
-
I bought it on my mobile when the tweet went out, which I rarely do. The inclusion of the DVD is what sealed the deal and I didn't want to miss out two days in a row.
-
Yes! The individual releases will make getting a box set (for those completest's) a hell of a lot easier than if there were no individual releases.
Still crazy that a 3rd part seller has 3 of these available though when other retailers couldn't get 1.
Bingo.
-
The scores for both seasons are well worth having. Really innovative, cool music. $28 is the cheapest I've seen this Stateside.
-
There definitely seemed to be, but I don't know for sure. When they first went live, before the tweet, there were far less pinks than greens. Was there a difference in quantities between the pink and green version for PYE?
Exactly so. Unless you collect 'em all, or are a famous TV dolphin, just go with the variant that floats your boat the most. Life's too short not to enjoy the things we collect.I went with the pink due to it being more "limited" but kinda liked the green better...next time, screw "limited"!
I went with pink myself, but it was because I already have a copy Pye Corner Audio's Superstitious Century on bight/neon green wax.I went with pink because I already have The Oh Sees' "Floating Coffin" on that green color. It looks fantastic in person.
-
Is it actually glow in the dark?
No. It's dayglo pink which is another way of saying fluorescent or "highlighter" pink. I believe the pink edition at Mondo was an even smaller run even though it mightn't have been dayglo. DWRC (and OWS) aren't going to be messing with GID wax until the tech changes. All of them have talked about what a nightmare it is, fidelity-wise, to work with.

grabbed silent night, pye corner, and the guest, and then got a call that my debit card has been hacked for $334 for somewhere in IL, so emailed mondo to cancel silent night, and combine the shipping. Just got a nice email from Roxy saying that the shipping is no problem, but cant cancel silent night according to policy, which is what I figured, I was just hoping for a best case situation. kinda of a bummer but o well.
Damn, C-Taint, I'm sorry to hear that. Heck of a way to end a good morning.

Killer Nun, PYA, and The Guest for me. New records from Alessandroni, Jenkins, and Moore? Sold.
-
Sure does, but it did nothing for me musically so I had to pass. Beauty of a record though.
-
We only got 75 copies. We might get some more, but I don't like selling what I don't have. But, yes, they should still be going to stores in the US
Thanks, Mo. Still, 75 went impressively fast. Good for those guys. Cool band. Mo, how many pink PYA 10"s were there? Those went quick as well.
-
I am surprised Nightsatan went so quickly. I believe there were 500 allotted for North America so I'm guessing that means quite a few are still going to be turning up at local shops, etc.
-
-
I have every release save one by PYA and it is all great music. One of my favories of the last few years.http://www.factmag.com/2015/04/24/pye-corner-audio-death-waltz-10-stars-shine-like-eyes/
That Pye Corner Audio track is too awesome - stoked for this!
-
Yeah, this is odd timing, but it'll be a huge release for them.
-
Also, the Nightsatan RSD title and "a few older releases." According to DWRC Twitter.
-
Hey, at least I'm gonna save $7 on whatever I impulse buy tomorrow.
Exactly so. I'm still only in for the two DWO releases. I like Alessandroni and I want more funky, Italian OSTs so I'm on the fence about Killer Nun, but the tracks on DWRC's Soundcloud didn't do it for me. I'll pass...for now.
-
EDIT: you dudes are quick.
Yeah, I'm kind of like the Glenn Tipton of this message board.
