If you are listening to them for 30 years you should be well over the fanboy-phase age-group therefore you can well realise that these new songs can't touch anything from the nineties and anything even on american idiot. Being a fan doesn't mean you have to be blind and/or deaf... This one eyed bastard song is pure garbage from the pink rip-off riff to the lazy-ass chorus with the worst flavors of holiday. And this goes for the other songs too except "ma" as well.

Green day was my favorite band growing up , based on your idea only people who think something's good can commment on the dedicated topic?

Also you are kinda in the minority here, no pun intended...

Nah I been listening to Green Day since the 90s these tunes are pretty good.

This pressing epitomizes the bullshit the vinyl industry has become now. Overpriced splatter record that sounds like trash. I was excited that this album finally got a pressing, but totally deflated when I put this on the turntable. I really wish we would focus less on what these discs look like and more on what they sound like...

This LP sounds exactly like the cd and digital versions of it that I’ve been listening to for 20 years.
I grabbed the white and green copy, if you did the same maybe your copy is messed up?

The sound is definitely not going to bring down the house but personally I think this album sounds exactly like it always has on vinyl.

I’m absolutely stoked to finally have it on wax.

For $26 this record is proof other bands and labels are ripping us off. It's a gatefold, partially glossy for certain parts of the art, came with a massive heavyweight book, a poster, and the variant I bought looks so good. The sound is very clear with no pops or skips. Meanwhile we're getting bare bones for $25-35 from others.

I haven't listened to the digital and I can tell this is going to take a few listens for me to get a solid opinion. I have to ask, does it sound like it was recorded, mixed and mastered well digitally? Because the music on the vinyl is not impressive. The mix is not dynamic and it's kind of rough, but maybe that's what they're going for.

100% I was blown away by this package. This record shreds too. I feel like this band is overlooked and it may not be everyone’s cup of tea – but they are damn good at what they do.

  4. This will definitely be a grower and I think that's intentional. Honestly it's the first Baroness record in years that doesn't make me sad. Like, emotionally sad because the songs are sad. It's a bit more of a fun listen in that way which I appreciate.  This one feels like a great mix of their old and new styles - and we get some pretty intense Baizeley growls, too. Album art is gorgeous, vinyl is heavy and the songs are really good. Thumbs up from me.

Snagged the represses a couple days back—crossing my fingers the recent repress campaign leads to a new album sometime this year.

Also would love to see a new Demdike Stare LP soon.

Yeah where has Demdike been? I feel like they were pumping stuff out a few years ago and then just stopped. Wonderland which I think was their last proper full length was out in 2016. Also, Turinn another Manchester producer put out a killer record on Modern Love then also vanished.

Agreed, would be great to get new tunes from the whole roster!

That's frustrating especially since that seems to be a pervasive problem with a lot of their pressings.

I've pretty much ordered everything they sell and have had zero issues with quality, customer service or any other problems with their pressings. One time I ordered the Godzilla box set and one of the LP covers was geeked and they sent another full copy on the house with no issue whatsoever. I guess ymmv but you can order with confidence from this company.

  7. Two new gospel records in a year! Amazing. Yeah I think from what I’ve been seeing from dogknights on instagram - I think this is a two-sided record. As in, there is definitely Dark Volume on side a but they said there’s also songs or song on side b.

The word emordinlap keeps coming up in interviews and I think maybe the second side of this has like an alternate version of the tune or maybe another song entirely? I think emordinlap means something like… reading the word backwards makes a different word. It may have something to do with that looking at the cover and reversed cover on the back. Plus, they said they recorded 11 tunes with Ballou so who knows.

Very cool but doesn’t matter, what matters is gospel came back after 17 years and released two records!

Not at all helpful, but that’s the record in my profile pic. Good luck!

Hahaha that's hilarious but also makes sense - great record! People seem to hold onto that record TIGHT because they are not on discogs or available anywhere.

I have had a hell of a time locating a copy and finally found one on eBay from Canada and ordered it straight away! I wonder if there will ever be a repress...

    RIP Gared

  9. yo I'm not trying to be any kind of way here and I rarely post but wanted to share. I have recently heard the Loser LP in full... all I can say is everyone is in for a treat that is well worth 17 years of waiting.

The record is Gospel at their most aggressive, discordant and captivating. The label talk of it being a 'masterpiece' is 100% on point. All 8 songs are barnburners and rest assured: they are all Gospel through and through.

I love this band and am so thrilled that they are still doing their own thing with reckless abandon or care for our expectations. I am truly blown away and excited for you to hear it too.

Has anyone ever ordered any records from Northeastern Steel Industry (NESI)?

I just found out that WITTR did a release with them for their last record...and it's sold out on their site...but found some copies for same on Discogs. But just curious as to NESI's quality and rep.

Honestly some of the nicest pressed, highest-quality packaging and bomb-proof shipping around. I ordered the last set of Blood Incantation records and then some Agolloch LPs and have been mightily impressed. You'll pay out the nose but the quality is there to back it up.

  11. The deluxe version in my opinion is 100% worth it! I really like this album - I mean the music itself is great if you like bh but the packaging for the gold deluxe is killer for 50 dollars. You get a big 'box set' style box with a couple big posters, a huge 'lyric' book with some cool pics and the records themselves are that nice soupy gold that actually looks good... and clear. It feels like a substantial total package fitting a solid album in my perspective and while you can get the normal 2xlp for 30 shipped - this deluxe is special. Everything feels like it was done with care from the gold foil stamping to the holographic inners its just a really nice package. I've seen records like this go for way more but at the end of the day it will appeal to you if you want the extras and are cool shelling out $20 extra dollars.

Just my opinion but it feels like they put effort into it and I think the price is fair.
