Mo. Is there an estimated shipping date for The Connection?

We're trying to lock that down at the moment. This one is atypical because we are using the plant we've never used before (one that pressed the original "La French" record) and unfortunately there have been delays that we usually are able to account for with the vendors we regularly use, but with a new (to us) plant, it's been more difficult to gauge those things.

6 variants of each and only 250 each for clue?! that is going to be so hard for people to get every color. its hard enough to check out with more than 2 items on limited drops.

Its a lot of variants, I agree - but I really encourage people to only grab their favorite. I grabbed Plum, personally. On the drop it should be a pull down to chose which color you want.

I was gonna purchase a cassette to the UK but then saw the shipping, i thought i'd add a vinyl to the order to make it worthwhile & the shipping went up to $39 !   its just too crazy , please look into this mo!

Hello again, I spoke with our shipping manager. There is something wacky happening with adding Cassette and Vinyl together. If you want to still do that, e-mail me and i'll help you on on the back end. So sorry about that!

Hey, I'll gladly look into this. Shipping to the UK (and overseas in general) is weight based. Putting a cassette and an LP into a vinyl mailer might bump it up to a weight that really costs close to that, but let me make sure it's not buggy though. Hmm. That is annoying. Here's probably what's going on. Sweaters ship priority (which is expensive, but fast) and cassettes ship Media mail (which is slow and cheaper) and our system probably isn't equipped to figure out how to put those things together. Because, yeah, truth is shoving a cassette inside the sweater and shipping shouldn't be more expensive than shipping the sweater (unless it pushes something that is 1lb 15oz to 2lb 01 oz as Priority mail is by the pound, not ounce)

If you want to buy both, I can talk to our shipping manager about giving you a refund on your shipping. Sorry about that. I know shipping is weird, and you guys have a lot of issues with our pricing - please understand I hear everything, and it's always an ongoing conversation. please know that we are no gouging or intentionally over charging you guys for profit. A lot of it is more the growing pains of a company that is selling a lot of different types of products, and shipping software that does not allow for nearly variable / options as we'd like.

But again, working on it always.

God, that would be amazing. TV is such a different world from Movies... If it's never been released officially on a "30 Rock: Music from the Television Series" type album, getting a studio to dig into rights for an inactive show is very very difficult. But definitely a great idea.

Hey Mo, will these be available at MondoCon?  Specifically the scarf?

It depends on how they sell, honestly. We have a set amount, but if we still have stock around that time, I can't see why not... but don't hold me to that. I'm only really working on the record side of MC things this year.

Hey Mo, any chance of you guys getting in the new Cinedelic reissues (NARRASSA - Viaggio Pop 1 & 2, Egisto Macchi - IL DESERTO, and Egisto Macchi - NUCLEO CENTRALE INVESTIGATIVO) for US distribution again? I love Cinedelic's stuff, but I don't love their 20 Euro shipping to the US...

Possibly. Nothing has crossed my path yet about those, but Spence is the one who deals primarily with Cinedelic. If I hear anything i'll let you know!

Wow!!! Any idea when tickets go on sale (for Austin specifically??) I can only assume I have Mondo to thank for an Austin appearance (the Friday before Mondocon no less) on such a limited tour.

Hey Mo, can I trouble you with some international shipping questions? You guys have always been great with helping out when it comes to customs/import fees. The fact that you don't include printed invoices anymore helps a ton, and so does the lower value printed on the customs slip.

 

The thing is, with bigger packages, that lower value is still over the import limit for pretty much all European countries. When I order only one record, the printed value is always $15, which makes the whole process smooth and customs don't even pick it up. With two or more records though the printed value is usually $30, which is over the import limit in EU, (generally around 22 EUR ($24)), so these packages always get picked out, and when they do customs office won't let them go until they get the original receipt.

 

Is it possible to make the value you print $20 instead of $30? That way the packages should go through without extra cost everywhere across the pond.

I'd love to be able to help you out specifically on this angle, but this is truthfully a better question for our shipping team. They are the ones who are deep in those trenches. I will say I know every release is different, and every country / city is different as well. and as much as we try to help if there is ever a time where will be times where the thing you are used to / we are used to working smoothly just won't. You should e-mail Bryan in our shipping team and speak with him. He is always super accommodating and will do everything in his power to sort you out.

Gotta say, I was super stoked on this when I heard about it, but the more I think, the more I'm disappointed that we don't get a full vinyl soundtrack. I guess this will have to do!

Not much longer. I'm still waiting for the balance to arrive from the plant, but i'm hoping to release it Mid August.

Sorry to everyone who is still waiting on their copies of The Last Of Us. They take a longer time to ship than normal LPs because they are such an odd sized piece that we have to package each one very precisely to ensure safe delivery. Our shipping team is absolutely fantastic, and were doing great to get out like the first 1,000 orders last week, and were planning on knocking the rest out this week... but then one of our toys "Lil' Mikey" was showed up this week, and because that's been pre-ordered for like 8 months, we had to push that to the front of the line. I'm really sorry guys!

Ill keep you updated with how things are moving, but people should start to see TLOU orders resume shipping, and receive notifications early next week

I would never do that to you. I swear. This is coming from a BRAND NEW fan....

Not sure how possible it is from your side, but the best solution would be: amazon. They have insanely cheap international shipping and since many previous Mondo releases have popped up there before, I guess it could be doable.

Having Amazon fulfill our orders isn't an option unfortunately. They buy from our wholesaler, and we aren't wholesaling this title (because of the high price point - similar to why we never wholesaled Looper)

I really wish USPS and UPS and FedEx offered those shipping prices to other retailers, but it's really all about shipping volume - something we can't quite compete with. 

I've been waiting for the last of us for so long. But 75$ Plus whatever shipping is going to be. Then converting that to Canadian. This release is going to be brutal. I don't know if I'll be able to justify it.

I completely understand. The Canadian shipping thing really bites. I can tell you this release isn't us gouging. This is an expensive piece to create. If you'd like, please e-mail me at [email protected] and let's see if we can come up with a creative solution to getting you a copy in Canada without killing you on the postage.

Full transparency, I wish I had an update. It's still coming. Vinyl production is so all over the place. Every license is different, and this one has just been one of those licenses that moves so slow there honestly hasn't been any news to share.

It's still happening. That's much I can say. And it's going to be good. But like some people are speculating, I would be prepared to wait for a little while longer. It's not going to just sneak up. We'll let you know as soon as we have a firm date.
