  2. going to the kansas city show in july. got my girlfriend a pair of tix for her birthday. i told her she could take whoever she wanted, and she decided to take me. i'm pretty excited, i hear it's a hell of a production.
  3. once a year, typically in april, labels press a bunch of limited run releases for independent music stores. this is supposed to encourage people to go to stores and buy physical product. (many stores have their biggest sales of the year these days.) in theory, it's a good idea. the only let down is that flippers will go and buy all of the stores stock of these releases, within a couple hours, they're on ebay for super inflated prices. here's the list for what came out this year: http://www.recordstoreday.com/Page/836
  4. from facebook: THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM UPDATE: we are very excited to announce that Rival Schools will be joining us on our June 15th NYC album release show w/Tim Barry!!! 7. stoked that they're finally coming back to missouri. bummed that it's the same night i have to be in lawrence for mastodon/valient thorr/baroness
  8. i ordered the 'fancy' one from the band... it showed up last week. sadly i haven't had anytime to listen to it yet. it looks fantastic though.
  9. i made it to the show last night in kansas city. they had the mariachi cd, bronx iii cd, shitty future 7"(that was the only vinyl) they also had a couple bronx shirts and a mariachi shirt. $30 will also get you the bronx cologne.
  10. there's a documentary that just got released today. it focuses on kansas city/lawrence bands. all biases aside, this is a really amazing look into being in a band from a ton of different perspectives. it has appearances from members of the Architects (kcmo), Get Up Kids, Coalesce, Appleseed Cast, The Life and Times, and a ton of others. there's a few different formats you can get the movie in. i saw a screening of it the other night, and it totally exceeded my expectations. please check out 72musicians.com for more info, or check out the preview here...
  11. just stumbled across this on dead to me's twitter... We(dead to me) got added to the Shirts For a Cure show at SXSW with 7 Seconds, Strike Anywhere, Fucked Up and Riverboat Gamblers! Good times!!
  12. found some highlights here: http://animal.discovery.com/videos/puppy-bowl-vi/
  13. Well the picture of the vinyl was taken of an actual record that we had in stock online so there may be a few clear ones mixed in there. travis-- i just wanted to say thanks. it's rad that you go out of your way to hook us all up with the info on the markdowns.
  14. this is going to sound strange, but have you tried putting it in a bag of rice? had a couple friends water damage their iphones and apparently the rice trick works. more info: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-10115292-233.html
  15. when i heard that soia was going to open for afi a couple years ago, i was kinda bummed... but then i read an interview where davey said they (afi) wanted to return the favor for soia letting afi open for many years... one of the best shows ever saw was the 'life on the ropes tour' the lineup was: sick of it all hot water music afi indecision
  16. shit sorry dude... it looked gold/yellow to me... i didn't realize there was an orange in the recent pressing.
  17. looks the same as a copy i have, which is from the 1st pressing.
  18. yeah, season to risk is doing a week tour coming up. i'll check your list out in a few days and see if i see anything missing. i'm out of town for work right now.
  19. hmm, it's very possible that we were going to the same shows... i'm 31, and have been around kc/lawrence for years... there is a possible breakups discography lp. years ago, this guy promised benji that he was going to put the record out. then the guy disappeared. i guess the guy passed away at some point. but benji got a call from someone claiming to have them and was going to get them to him... i keep forgetting to ask him if he's gotten them yet. next time i see him i'll ask what's up with them
  20. for one reason or another, i've missed a bunch of them too. but i've seen some great ones as well, i did catch the first UFB reunion a few months ago. one of my favorites was a few years ago when the urge did a secret reunion at the hurricane on the patio. i saw cretin 66 a couple months back it was awkward because it was a fashion show with them as the music... the breakups tried to get back together, but it kind of fizzled out. i think dave 'chilidog' does solo stuff from time to time. benji had a new project started, i haven't heard it yet. i need to get in touch with benji, he told me that a label in seattle pressed a vinyl that collects most everything they ever put out, and a few unreleased songs. when/if i finally get it, i'll let you know. i wondering if you and i know each other from back in the day.
  21. maybe this has been mentioned...i didn't see it anywhere the Chuck Ragan Live at Hafenkneipe Zurich white with blue splatter is up on the S1D store $12 http://store.sideonedummy.com/miva/merch....ory_Code= vinyl
  22. yeah, i was out of town and missed it, but my girlfriend told me about it... danger bob had a reunion show at the bottleneck, but the night before they did another show at a dive bar in lawrence(i can't remember the name)... they did le pop shoppe in it's entirety and a few other songs. they hinted that 'they weren't the only reunion that weekend' i missed the kosher reunion as well... as far as revolvers, i doubt that will happen. every time i see justin he says it's up to mike, and when i see mike he says it's up to justin. maybe someday though. i've been trying for a few years to get my hands on some unreleased stuff justin has... maybe someday. mike and chris(bass player) have a new band called hipshot killer... i haven't been able to check them out yet though.
  23. With living in Lawrence the past few years, I have been out of touch w/ that whole KC scene a bit. I didn't make it out to any of the Sex Offenders shows, but from what I have heard they are not really back together, but not really broken up. They are pretty much playing when ever they feel like playing a show. I have not heard anything about SMRC or the saints though. Kbblackrob on here would be the dude to ask about those! Did you live in KC at some point? SMRC will get together from time to time for special events. i believe they played a benefit show last year. Main Street Saints... i've heard rumors, but nothing confirmed... i talk to the singer jason on a fairly regular basis... i'll ask hime next time i see him. another reunion from back in the day happened a couple weeks ago... i couldn't make it, but danger bob played a reunion show, and the secret opener ended up being the bubble boys.
