Yeah, the whole convention industry has gotten pretty bad. I'm about 5-10 minutes from Monster Mania myself, so I typically go regardless. I actually travel around the country quite a bit to attend, vend, and/or work these sort of events. Tomorrow I'm flying out to Indianapolis for www.HorrorHoundWeekend.com Still have yet to check out Bizarre AC myself; I've heard mixed things about it.

Props to Top Shelf Records. Everything was packaged up and a label created within an hour of placing my order; had my records on my doorstep 4 days later and everything was in pristine shape.

Did anyone else have issues trying to order from Victory during their Labor Day 25% off sale? I tried to place an order last night before the sale ended...it told me the order qualified, but then it said the discount code had expired at 11:59 PM on Sept 1st....only it was only about 10:00 PM EST at that point. I sent them an email about it but haven't heard anything; was just curious if any of you guys encountered this too??

Usually it's 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, but it's a holiday weekend and everybody is going to be heading to the shore - and that means traffic will be backed up fiercely.

They probably won't wait until night; my guess is early to mid-afternoon. However, I'd selfishly prefer they waited until tonight. All I have lined up is sitting home alone, drinking a lot of jack daniels, eating chick-fil-a, and spinning records. This would fit in quite nicely with my plans for the evening haha.

...because Friday night of a holiday weekend makes the perfect time to drop a record....

Black Map's debut full length, ...And We Explode, was just announced for release on October 28th through Minus Head Records. No details on pre-orders yet, but I imagine they'll pop up here when available: http://minushead.com/store/ Really dug their Driver EP so I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

Didn't think this one really had a chance of living up to hype the band created, but I'll be damned - this is a killer album.
