yeah, if anyone has a blue or yellow benji, i'd pretty much trade anything in my collection for it. lemme no.
-
link? i can't find 'em on the site.

can everyone just shut the fuck up? no one cares if you like it or not. everyone just wants to get the boxset announcement with limited interruption.

ah man, you guys are just naming goofy band names. hahaa but yeah, iateabearonce is fuckin' awful. at first i read it as iateabeavonce, which woulda been much better, obv. i feel like the lack of effort in a lot of those sort of disqualifies them as being the worst ever, and if they're really good, the music sort of transforms a crappy band name into a great one, ie. Smashing Pumpkins, Archers of Loaf, Pearl Jam, even Blink 182(hah -- maybe). what about Tears for fucking Fears? that name is retarded, but the music is so good that... blah blah. You get the point.
Thy Art is Murder is just so fantastically terrible. so overly-revised, pretentious, artificial, disingenuous, overly-serious and so contrived and completely meaningless. i hate it and would laugh in someone's face if they suggested it. that's just me though. yugh.
ok. this is too long. sorry dudes. maybe i'll make another thread one a these days for the worst band names ever. best of luck to the art murder junkies from elizabethan times. i'm sure they're better than their band name.

i'm pumped. i've been looking for the worst band name of all time and i think Thy Art is Murder takes the cake!

as the person who initially made that now semi-popular comparison, i would just like to say that it was made to compliment both Wesley Willis and Mark Kozelek. i am a huge fan of both of those guys.

You're under no obligation to listen to any material he releases. I haven't had time to listen to the new song, but I think that his last couple albums have been just as interesting as what he was releasing in the early SKM days. His style has changed and perhaps he should have picked a different moniker to release the new material under. Seems that some people have an easier time dealing with a large shift when it's under a different name. Overall though, he's writing songs for himself at this point and I think we're lucky that he chooses to release them at all. I'm glad he's challenging himself and the listeners. It doesn't always work, but at least it's not the same release over and over again. He's not going to be writing another April and people just need to accept that.
100% agree. hit the nail on the head.
also, to pretend you understand his barometer for 'effort', or anyone's, is insane. that's a real tired (& effortless?) assumption about his new stuff. besides, what does effort have to do with anything? who gives a shit if the song took a minute or a year to write, what's the difference?

purchased. prepared to regret.

i will trade two tickets to see jesu/sun kil moon in philly. might even throw in some extra cash if you're lucky.
-
whatdya want, jackass?
-
just to reiterate: if anyone snags me one, i will send them my deluxe version of this record as trade. solid.
or i'll pay for the record + shipping and lace you with two sun kil moon/jesu tickets for the philly show. boomshakalaka.

probably great! 29.99 is a fucked up bullshit price for that record. they'd be making money if they sold 'em all for 10.
-
will trade my deluxe, if someone grabs me an extra record release copy. straight up.
-
nope. still got 'em both. got some very nice offers... guess i'm hard to trade with. please see the 'wants bad' section of my deadformat.

am i being uptight or is a video of suicide for a song about mental illness(?) in weird taste
no, i think you're pretty right on actually. if you have experience with mental illness, you'd know this kinda shit is ignorant and in weird taste.
i also think these lyrics are cliche and don't necessarily represent mental illness, aside from the obvious title adaptation. they're at least too cliche for me to accept as genuine -- i know, what a dick -- but they are sooo hardcore scene-y ala 2000-2005 ala American Nightmare, and all the other bands that started doing that sad, angry-guy shtick. that being said, this album was a huge surprise to me and i'm definitely drinkin' the kool-aid way more than i expected. i have to admit i enjoyed watching the video, despite it's stupidity, fuckups and my hatred for 3D animation.

hey, not dying to trade these, but I really don't need both and there are a few things i've been wanting more and for way longer. let me know if you have them/some combination of them and maybe we can work something out. trade list below:
