  1. Fuck I've seen them five or six times and they have never played this. I've also wanted to see them play it.
  2. I'm sure this has been said but I'd kill for a Minus The Bear boxset containing the following: They Make Beer Commercials Like This, Bands Like It When You Yell "Yar!" at Them, This Is What I Know About Being Gigantic, The Bonus cd from Planet Of Ice. Also Perhaps some unreleased, live or demo stuff. Like the Demo's going around the internet for beer commercials and menos. I wouldn't care how this came all 7"s, on a few different lps (The first two ep's on one lp each of them get a side and then the rest spread out over another lp or two). Or even a mix of lp's and 7"s.
  3. Fuck I just did this with my original pressing of alk3's goddamnit. You owe me a new copy! Or I'll just take you POI test of your hands if that's easier ....worth a shot. haha
  4. You have Braid bootleg footage? Is there anyway I could get that from you? Do you have two VCR's that you could dub a copy for me?
  5. Drumming in Fantomas thanks to Dave Lombardo of Slayer!!!!! One of the best drummers in metal! Yeah he is in my top three with Chris Pennie and Brann from Mastodon.
  6. I wish that video was longer. Here's another sweet one, a drum duet. I saw them play live together and it was amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=563Joj7DoD0&feature=related
  7. It would be silly if they weren't all tuned to different pitches, but he can play melody's on that, here's a cool video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xir6EVkzDws
  8. Ok I'm bound to make a few posts on this thread. As I am a drummer and I listen to a lot of music just for the drummer. For Jazz stuff you need: 1) Mahavishnu Orchestra - Birds of Fire. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. The drumming on this is fucking wild. This album started jazz/rock/funk fusion. Billy Cobham is one of the first drummers to use 2 bass drums (I think, I'm too lazy to back that statement up though). 2) anything by Buddy Rich: I got a Buddy Rich dvd for Christmas last year and it's an amazing performance . He looks like he's 60 years old but this man can move so fast and play heavier than most drummers today. 3) Billy Cobham - Crosswinds and/or Spectrum: these are the drummer from the mahavishnu orchestra's first two solo albums. Amazing drumming. Cheesy synth (but still really good), and amazing Guitar work. and other jazz drummers to look into are: Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette (especially Bitches Brew era Miles Davis albums), Elvin Jones Metal: Hella - "There's no 666 in outer space" Think if Mars volta (also another band with cool drums) made their drummer take lessons for 10 hours a day for a year and then gave him enough speed to kill a small horse. That's this band. Holy shit is Zach hill an amazing drummer. Mastodon: any of their albums will do, this man tears the skins off of his drums he is so precise and so technical and just amazing. Fantomas - "The directors cut" or "Suspended Animation" - This band is really weird it's a brainchild of Mike Patton. The directors cut is a bit more accessible as it's covers of songs from films. Suspended animation is crazy. Really fast hard hitting technical drums. Also check out some Frank Zappa albums especially: the grand wazoo, Sheik Yerbouti, and One Size Fits All. Make sure you check out the song "the black page" The drummer (Terry Bozzio) has one of the biggest drum sets in the world. Here's a picture There are 6 bass drums, that's right 6. And all of his drums and cymbals are tuned to pitches. That's it for now, more later I'm sure.
