  1. Hole shit! That is a crazy lineup, I'd kill to see Helmet and Jawbox! My first real show (I'm not counting when I saw the bare naked ladies in 3'rd grade) was when I was 11 my dad took me to see Lollapalooza 96 and I saw: The Screaming Trees, The Violent Femmes, Rancid, The Ramones, Soundgarden and Metallica. It was amazing! The first show I saw without an adult present was Soulfly in 2000.
  2. Did you not see that the guy a couple of posts above you has a full collapse? Get on that shit.
  3. Just out of curiosity what store is this? I'm not going to go pick it up or anything, I'm just on the lookout for new record stores in Toronto.
  4. I saw them last month, and they didn't even bring any vinyl! I was really pissed. I don't feel bad about missing that show then. I've pretty much retired them from my bands to see. I've seen them five times and while they are still awesome live nothing is going to live up to the first couple of times I saw them in Guelph and London.
  5. These are in chronological order not in order of importance. 1. The Offspring - Smash - I can't remember if I got this before Dookie or not but they kind of go hand in hand with me. I got them in grade 4 and listened to them all the time. I remember talking to my friends about the Offspring and us always singing 'Bad Habit' when there weren't any teachers around. This helped get me into punk rock, two years later my dad took me to see Rancid and the Ramones. 2. Tom Waits - Nighthawks at the Diner - I first heard this album when I was 8 on a road trip with my dad, it seemed really goofy at first but then I heard Big in Japan on punk-o-rama 4 when I was 14 and remembered this album and grabbed my dad's cd and words cannot describe the feelings I had while listening to this album. 3. Ice Cube - War and Peace vol. 1 - Say what you want about Ice Cube now but when I heard this album when I was 12 or 13 it just seemed so awesome. At that point I was listening to a lot of punk rock: nofx, pennywise, afi, minor threat and a bunch of local bands. Then one of my best friends lent me his cassette of this album and I listened to it non-stop for a week. This was my gateway into good hip-hop. 4 Refused - The Shape of punk to come - I wasn't aware music could be this loud and abrasive and still catchy as fuck. This album rekindled my love of punk rock. 5. Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue - This was the first jazz album I ever bought. I was in an hmv and they had a 2 for $25 deal on cds and I grabbed a Ben Folds cd and was looking for something else and saw this and just decided to check it out. I finally understood Jazz upon hearing this album, it all made sense. Honorable mentions: Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity and Against Me! - RAR
  6. I love when GOB was dating Lucille 2 Lucille 2: Read me the appetizers again. G.O.B.: “Fried cheese... with club sauce.” Lucille 2: Oh... G.O.B.: “Popcorn shrimp... with club sauce.” Lucille 2: (Moans.) G.O.B.: “Chicken fingers...” Lucille 2: Oh, stop it, you’re making me dizzy. G.O.B.: “...with spicy club sauce.” The way he says "Spicy club sauce" cracks me up every time.
  7. hey how much do you want for close calls with brick walls? I'm not sure if I want it or not but I'm curious.
  8. I consider it an "Awesome Tax". Oh, and I think I'll grab a few of these! haha, I guess we are pretty awesome.
  9. Thanks, I finally got off my ass and picked up planet of ice. $8 shipping seems a bit much though.
  10. DIdn't this exact same movie come out last year except they called it The Fog?
  11. I don't care how much I'm smited for this but I love Dio! Mob Rules is a great fucking record. Granted it's nothing compared to the first 4 sabbath albums but it's still awesome.
  12. I can't believe you haven't gotten this yet. I bought it on a whim to see if I liked the band (turns out I don't) and I've had mine for almost 3 weeks.
  13. Hands down Murder by Death - In bocca... Get warmer is a second though.
  14. There is one this weekend in hamilton and one next weekend in kitchener. This site has all of the dates posted. Enjoy http://www.vibrations.ca/events/calendars/rs_2006.html
  15. I actually just saw it last night and thought about how weird it is that they still use that commercial.
  16. Really? I thought it was to 250 and the one with the yellow streak was 1000. Oh well.
  17. I think they should release both films together on a shitty quality vhs release. It'd be so perfect for these movies.
  18. I can't wait to see this movie. But it won't be coming anywhere near me. I may bus to Toronto and see this and Darjeeling limited.
