Jason, just read that the Omega is the same body as most of the OM line of carts. That means you can grab any OM stylus (OM10 - OM40) and improve your sound without having to buy a new cart. The OM10 is a red, OM20 is blue, etc. You can also buy 3rd party styli, like the JICO OM30, for cheap. 3rd party stylus seem to have longer cantilevers, so you'd need to realign the cart. accordingly. I recommend double checking alignment after a stylus change anyway, but usually official ones should be exactly the same.

JICO OM30 $66, ships from their factory in Japan.
    LPGear selection of Ortofon Styli
$17ppd Pfanstiehl stylus people give some praise. Cantilever looks longer, so will needs alignment adjustments. Worth a shot for the price.

2M red is what I use, I personally love it some people say it's too bright but it's the best cartridge I've personally owned. I think it's the best needle you can get for $100 and it can handle regular play for at least 5 years so the value is there. I think you will notice the improvement over the omega (I sell omega, red and blue at work as well as grado green and gold) , if you can spring for the blue do it but the red is no slouch

You got it, bud. You'll enjoy it for sure. Plus it's so pretty! I went from a Grado Green > Music Tracker > Blue. The difference was insane.

I was just thinking that too. All together, $300 in a quality table & cart combo isn't really a lot in the grand scheme of things. Since getting new speakers did make a big difference, the cart needs to be upgraded so I will just go ahead and make the leap. Thanks for the advice @Dave Grohl!

Get the 2m blue. It's well worth the price difference from the red.

Whenever I see/hear someone use the word "feels" in place of feelings I immediately stop reading/listening to that person.

I was just reading a New Yorker piece and the writer did that. What. The. Fuck.

I was going to grab a AT440mlb is they had any on sale. I don't need one, and I'm happy with my upgraded Grado, but options are always nice (esp a deal).

Good day all. I swear if this year doesn't hurry up and end without taking one more great musician with it, I'm just gonna lose my shit. Now Greg Lake too. Those first two King Crimson albums are like bibles to me in a silly sort of way. So heavy, yet right at the dawn of heavy & progressive music's big push through's into the mainstream.

Being sick as a kid is dope. You get to skip school, play video games, watch daytime TV, and get everything brought to you on the couch.

Phone interview went really well, so hopefully I get an interview. The job sounds a million times better then my current job. It a 6 month contract to hire, with much higher pay, a lot more vacation, more holidays and much better benefits. It's still help desk, but it's at a software company, so more room for advancement.

Sorry to tell you buddy, but the girlfriend says it can the same way a lung will collapse again after it's happened once already. If you had an appendectomy you would have been out of the hospital faster!

Oh I'm super good at pretending I know who someone is, but I start to feel bad when they give me a gift.

At the end of the gift giving chaos my girlfriend ended up with 4 coloring books and I had 1 too. Apparently 2016 is the year of coloring books for adults.

My boyfriend's brother just had a baby recently. I called him the "wee baby Seamus" so much while his wife was pregnant that when he finally came I would just say "Hi, baby" because I would randomly forget his name.

At my girlfriend's family's Christmas party. I got a bunch of presents but I still don't remember who anyone (over the age of 30 or under 23) actually is.

It's my 3rd Christmas and I've been to 2 of their weddings so I should start remembering names.
