  1. the US pressing of Stereolab's Emperor Tomato Ketchup is a single LP and it clocks in at about 52 minutes. 26 minutes each side. and it sounds just like you'd expect it. crappy. ideally, you should only put about 20 minutes on each side. otherwise you compromise sound quality.
  2. the original vinyl lp version of Disintegration excludes two songs (Last Dance and Homesick) so that could be why it all fit on one album
  3. Engineers/Constantines -- Split 7" Single (Insound 7" Singles Series) froSTed (Jane Wiedlin-ex-Go Gos) -- Cold (Clear Blue Vinyl /1500) White Stripes -- Conquest 3 x 7" Singles with the wrong sealing sticker, which I flipped on eBay shortly after buying. paid $21 and sold the lot for $65

  7. i wasn't aware how collectible Jimmy Eat World stuff is. i pretty much have all their releases on vinyl (except the Back from the Dead Motherfucker comp). i suppose i could make a killing on them. but i ain't looking to sell.
  8. free lunch day at work. i think it's pizza Monday.
  9. wow! nice grab! i had no idea those existed... yeah, it's the same as this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/Bran-Van-3000-Drinking-In-L-A-Promo-12-LP_W0QQitemZ200193553614QQihZ010QQcategoryZ306QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem it's actually an 8 track e.p. with 6 mixes and 2 b-sides. i wasn't specifically looking for it. just found it (while i was in San Diego) and remembered that i really like the song.
  10. My Bloody Valentine -- Loveless Reissue LP with Gatefold Slayer -- Christ Illusion Red Vinyl LP The Shins -- Phantom Limb 7" Single with double-grooved b-side Bran Van 3000 -- Drinking in L.A. Clear Vinyl Promo 12" Single

  12. that sucks. when you bought it, the guy said that it was red? i know that none of the Static Age records had any indication that they were colored. it was just hit and miss, i think. i'd be pretty happy though because i think the yellow vinyl is the rarer of the two. i just bought both the American Hardcore soundtrack and Minor Threat's First Two 7" Singles albums expecting both of them to be colored and they weren't. very anticlimactic.
  13. American Hardcore Soundtrack Goblin Cock - Bagged and Boarded Picture Disc Gallows - Abandon Ship 7" with Gatefold cover
  14. I could have sworn that somebody here posted a pic of this movie's soundtrack on red vinyl. Did I completely imagine that? Does a red vinyl pressing exist? Any other pressing info? Other colors?
  15. i'm a little older than most of the folks here so i've been in quite a few bands. I played drums in all the bands. The Little Season 1992-1993 A Christian punk band that I joined because a few of my friends were born-agains. Lasted all of 9 months. The Invisible Men 1994 My first official band. Surf/garage/punk rock band when everybody else was doing the revival ska thing. Played a lot of backyard parties. Broke up because I decided to leave. My Dad Hits Me 1995 A band that me and my friends formed for a concert put on for our MIDI class at junior college. In the end, we didn't use any MIDI for our songs. Hidden 1995-1997 The Goth band. Just bass, vocals and drums. Very influenced by The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Pixies. First band that I was in that played in clubs. I left because I couldn't stand the female lead singer. Elvis Disciples 1997 Back to the punk rock. I was filling in for my buddy's band. Total skater punk. Played a ton of shows including a show with Zeke and Texas Terri and the Stiff Ones. Stanton 1998-1999 Indie shoegazer/post-rock-type band. One of the first bands where I finally felt that I was really contributing to the band's music. The Rippers 2000-2003 Straight up garage rock and roll band a la New Bomb Turks/Devil Dogs. I consider this band my first REAL band. Played a ton of shows. Opened up for some of my favorite bands -- New Bomb Turks, The Dragons, and The Dirtbombs. First band that actually recorded music. Recorded an e.p. that didn't get released because we broke up. Melissa's Intent 2003-2005 Indie rock/shoegazer band. The band I joined right after the Rippers broke up. While I enjoyed being in this band, I never really felt part of it. We recorded a full album that, again, never saw the light of day. The band broke up shortly after I left. Quan and the Chinese Take-Outs 2005-Present Back to the rock n' roll. Probably the most active I've been in any band. Playing drums, booking shows, and recording/engineering our songs. Have been playing around L.A. Planning on releasing a 7" this year.
  16. I posted this before in the "Your Most Prized Piece of Vinyl" thread but I thought I show it again Stereolab - Aluminum Tunes Japanese Only Coloured Vinyl Box Set Blue, Orange, and Clear Vinyl w/bonus 7" glitter yellow vinyl and t-shirt /625 I just like the fact that this particular pressing was exclusive to Japan. It comes in a nifty box with a t-shirt and a bonus glitter yellow vinyl 7" with 2 exclusive tracks.

  18. cool, thanks. looks like i'll be ordering it on my next paycheck.
  19. how long ago did you order it? i've seen that guy's feedback and unfortunately, he's notorious for claiming to have things in stock and then not having it. if you ordered it recently then i'd have a little more faith that he'd have it in stock.
  20. not all of them have the wrong sticker on them. some of them actually have the right "Conquest" stickers. there a chance you might get the right pressings.
  21. Looking for the UK double vinyl LP of Funeral for a Friend's Casually Dressed and In Conversation on Infectious/East West. If anybody has one (or knows where I can get one besides eBay, that is reasonably priced) let me know. I'd be willing trade almost anything in my music collection (in the sig) for it.
