  1. Jk. I followed their FAQ instructions on how to cancel an order (email them within an hour of placing the order) and they ignored it for two days and shipped the order out anyway. And they aren't responding to messages about arranging a return. Seems pretty straightforward to use PayPal's help to get them to respond and arrange a return now instead of doing the exact same return in a few months, if they even respond at all.
  2. No. I am happy with the records and I want them. I just filed the PayPal claim because I want the records and I also want to get my money back. Is that frowned upon here?
  3. Not bad lol. I don't think I have the patience to wait 8 months to wait for $90 or duplicates of 4 records so I just opened a PayPal claim. We'll see if they respond. Back to the PJ talk, gentleman... Stoked to have a $30 new No Code coming in a few weeks. Not the biggest PJ fan but that album came out at the perfect time and I was huge into it. No Code and New Adventures in Hi Fi were my 1-2 big-band-at-their-least-commercially-popular jams in the mid 90s.
  4. Popmarket is great at fulfilling but if you want to cancel an order, return an order, or you have issues with an order, from my experience and from reading online, they can be non-responsive. I placed a $90 order two weeks ago, emailed them an hour later to cancel the order, and then, two days after that, I got a shipping notification for the order I was trying to cancel. In the following days, I contacted them about their non-response and about scheduling a return of the items and they haven't responded to any messages. The package arrived earlier this week and I emailed them again. No response.
  5. Good prices. HORRIBLE customer service. They will not reply to any messages, so if anything goes wrong with your order you'll need to spend a bit of time tracking them down for help. In my opinion, it's safer to pay $4 more and get the records on Amazon Prime if you're a subscriber.
  6. I almost became a fan of this album midway when Mark sings: "Some daaaaaaaay you will come back to me and I'll saaaaay..." Except he didn't end it with "Why don't you go fuck yourself!" which is inexplicable and wrong.
  7. I would be happy if I never saw another show again set in the entertainment industry with characters who have set/crew jobs on movie and TV shows. I live in Los Angeles and am in the same comedy community as the people on 'Love' so I may just be oversaturated with that stuff. I'd rather watch comedians and actors play characters who aren't screenwriters, PAs, comedians playing themselves, actors, etc.
  8. I live in Los Angeles so I have just accepted that every goodwill has been raided of their good vinyl by the employees/hipsters/record shop owners/everyone. The best records I've found are just classic rock records that aren't scratched to hell and more and more the prices are becoming $3-5 per LP.
  9. I don't like this album but at least it's more interesting than the last few LPs. There are a few moments where it sounds like they are ready to go full fast-pace classic Blink but then some studio effects come in and kill the mood or Travis starts doing his skittering drum thing and I remember that this isn't 1999 anymore. I don't remember the last few ones having any fleeting good moments to kill. Also, I legitimately expected to hear a techno beat drop in during some of Mark's vocal melodies over sparse instrumentation. Something very AVICI/techno-folk-radio-pop sounding about some of the melodies.
  10. If you spend more than $100, they'll slice an 11 inch slit at the top and bottom of each record's jacket and tape all four corners in toward the center.
  11. Just over here waiting for CYLS to release the seemingly-years-in-the-making new Kind of Like Spitting album.
  12. In 30 years, all of our Hot Topic splatters will dissolve in their frames.
  13. eBay. If any parts ever wear down or break, email the dude. He's great at sending replacements and helping you out.
  14. My Smartpunk Hello Rockview came with two- count 'em- two splits on the top of the sleeve. One is clearly from the record and the second smaller one looks to be maybe from the comic book? I've never seen a big papa seam split next to a baby seam split like that before. My Losing Streak came without jacket damage, thankfully.
  15. Not if the OP feels they stumbled upon a gold mine trade piece.
  16. I went back to Amoeba LA today and found more bootlegs. I picked up Pretty Pictures, Live in Chicago, and New Orleans- first two were $19.99 and for some reason they priced New Orleans at $29.99 which is high. They still had most of the other ones I mentioned in my last post. It's been fun to go from checking Discogs everyday and dealing with international sellers to finding several bootlegs in person on two trips in a row.
  17. I remember some shops being confusing with their listings. Such as, the black would be listed as 2xLP and the white was LP+ (even though it was a 2xLP record) or vice versa. I remember thinking that there was a 1 LP version and a 2 LP version and also wondering if the white version was the same as the + version or the 'indie exclusive' versions. I could see people making a mistake when ordering.
  18. You have incorrect seller terms. You can't pass off the damage/loss responsibility of a package onto the buyer, even if insurance is not purchased. It's against Discogs and PayPal policy.
  19. I have the myUSPS app but I buy too much records to be able to connect which one might be Smartpunk. Do you remember what city yours originated in? Bloomington?
  20. $43 sounds about right for original cost + shipping + PayPal fees. Some stores were selling it for $29.99 but my local shop was at $34.99 + tax.
  21. I'm going to guess that this is a last ditch effort to maximize their profits before the real liquidation begins...that is IF there is a public sale and they don't just return stock to distributors or sell to another company.
