It's so weird that iam8bit go to such great lengths to describe the intricacies of the game's score and how incredible it sounds - then go ahead and press it on a picture disc. If the score is that awesome, it seems such a waste.

The new game will have its OST released on vinyl by iam8bit, btw. iam8bit haven't announced it, but it was confirmed by the dev. It probably won't happen until next year, though.
IIRC the rights to the old ones still belong to Sega, so those could be done by Data Discs, I think. I guess we'll see

Making the price point the main factor, I think I figured out a way to make these mixtapes that will keep the aesthetic, yet they won't be a straight up one-to-one clones (this would on a whim regardless, you don't see the tape very well in the show in general).
 
I'll need to pre-sale at least 6 copies to make this worth the material shipping cost alone. If I don't reach that within 2 weeks I'll refund everything and we'll forget this project ever happened :D. Also I have horrendous handwriting but can fill out the tracklist for you if you want, please mention it in the check out notes otherwise I'll send it to you blank!

Absolutely, I saw another user describing it as a "cardboard coffin" which seemed fitting. Great packaging job!
 
And unrelated to Furi - Data Discs just confirmed that next week's surprise release will indeed be an unannounced title. Super excited to see what it could be

IIRC it's a collection of arranged versions of game tunes from '84. It's considered one of the earliest game music releases. Harumi Hosono has been in a ton of different bands, but most notably he was part of Yellow Magic Orchestra (who covered video game tunes as early as '78).
Supposedly it sold very well and was released both in Europe and Japan.

In your defense, it was just before the GosT drop, so it was easy to miss in the chaos that followed. As an update though, someone asked Rad Rush if there will be any previews of the tracks (since all of them are exclusives) and they said that some are definitely coming. 

I think maybe he just needs to blow on the grooves and try re-inserting into the turntable a few times.

Yeah, on their webstore, but they only said "sometime next week". The last "random" drop was on Wednesday though, for whatever that's worth.
