  1. Being new to California, I've been experimenting with all the craft beer out here (Illinois isn't very dedicated to offering craft beer). I've grown especially fond of the Blue Palms Brewhouse in Hollywood (right next to the Music Box). They have an incredible selection of craft beers on tap, including a mint chocolate beer. It's absolutely delicious. They also have Dogfish Head in bottles, with Midas Touch being one of their finest selections. A description: "This recipe is the actual oldest-known fermented beverage in the world! It is an ancient Turkish recipe using the original ingredients from the 2700 year old drinking vessels discovered in the tomb of King Midas. Somewhere between wine & mead; this smooth, sweet, yet dry ale will please the Chardonnay of beer drinker alike." I also found a crazy IPA called Hop Wallop from Victory Brewing Company. The hop taste doesn't fade. It will put hair on your chest.
  2. Gob: I was halfway to South America, but I couldn’t let you get away with it, because we’re brothers, Mom, and we kind of like each other.
  3. Well I read the post and completely disagree. He has to go down on her. It's quite obvious.
  4. i dislike when people write out sentences or text sentences that dont have punctuation or capitalization so when youre skimming its hard to read correctly you really dont know where one sentence begins and ends perhaps the person writing the paragraph has nothing important to say but you have to take your time and read it all to make sure of the posters meaning instead of just skimming it anyone else with me one this raise your hands
  5. As of the January 1st show, they don't have any newer release vinyl with them but they do have some kick ass beer koozies and the "hip hop" cd.
  6. Dogfish Head and Stone make some unbelievable IPAs, the latter being incredibly strong and the former being rated one of the best in the US.
  7. Rachel McAdams. Enough said. And it's been reported that Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr. have signed on for a sequel, with talks of Brad Pitt reuniting with Richie as the villain.
  8. they dont do anything terribly innovative, but what they do, they do very very well and they have a great time doing it. They are into their stuff 100%. http://www.myspace.com/coyotebones check: dont lose your cool, 39 forever, let the burden be mine. Thanks for the link. This band is swell.
  9. Father: T-shirt and chocolate Mother: Various items from Disneyland Friend: God of War T-shirt, Star Trek Patches Mistress: A collection of Nightmare Before Christmas items I have an addiction to collecting things, so finding stuff for people and putting it all together can be really enjoyable. And expensive.
  10. Resident Evil 4 is a lot of fun being more interactive. Since my brother just bought a PS3, I took some time and finally played/beat the first Assassin's Creed. I liked it. And now it's the newest Prince of Persia.
  11. I'll second the Margot and the Nuclear So and So's.
  12. O really? Nice. I'll check it out at the So-Cal shows comin' up "Hopefully, by the time we hit the road we will have a new 7" split with our dear friends in The Gunshy. This record will be brought to you by the big brains behind the AJJ pillowcase, Silver Sprocket Bike Club."
  13. I must also mention "Inglorious Basterds" soundtrack. And Gogol Bordello - Live
  14. I was hoping this would go up soon. Ordered! I can't wait to ring in the New Year with the AJJ show in San Diego. I think they have a new split too.
  15. Huh. I was going to recommend this. I didn't expect anyone to mention Harley Poe. I love them. And only one mention "Zombie" by Screeching Weasel? COME ON!
  16. I remember mentioning The Mad Caddies Keep it Going on here before some place (I forgot to mention it on this thread) and someone replied that it would be too long for a single LP pressing. A double LP might not sell that well. I'm not sure how popular the Mad Caddies are overall. But I would love to have the record as it is quite fantastic.
  17. The Filthy Thieving Bastards - "...I'm a Son of a Gun" (BYO pressed "My Pappy Was A Pistol..." but didn't do the next one. Dammit!) Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution - "A Call To Arms" Everthus the Deadbeats - "John Kill and the Microscopic Lullaby" Goldfinger - "Goldfinger" Goldfinger - "Hang-Ups" The Mad Caddies - "Songs in the Key of Eh" The Swingin' Utters - "Sounds Wrong EP" The Forces of Evil - "Friend or Foe?" The Hippos - "Heads Are Gonna Roll" Jay Munly - "And the Lee Lewis Harlots" Anything by the Aquabats, Reel Big Fish, Calibretto (13), and Harley Poe.
  18. - I was fired for leaving the back door unlocked again. 2.25 years down the drain for absentmindedness. - I was expecting tips to pay off the expenses I incurred had last week. + Decided to travel with my time off. --- Made a friend cry by joking that I'd be leaving town for good. + Caught up on movies + Band practice (playing) went better - Band practice ended the guitarists straplock coming unscrewed and falling to the ground, breaking the input jack into the hollow body Pretty fucking shitty day. Ah, venting sounds better.
  19. I read on punknews.org about a new release from Mischief Brew and Guignol. Upon further inspection, I found this out: "Guignol & Mischief Brew first collaborated on "A Liquor Never Brewed", a track from Mischief Brew's 2005 release Smash The Windows. Erik Petersen's Fistolo label released Guignol's sophomore EP Drink The Best Wine First the same year. Now, three years later, a long-planned full-length collaboration is coming to fruition: Guignol & Mischief Brew Fight Dirty is seven Mischief Brew songs with Guignol as backing band; six Guignol songs with Erik on guitar; a Django Reinhardt cover, and a barn-burning take on Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be They Name" (with Slavic Soul Party's Ben Holmes on trumpet). THIS IS NOT A SPLIT! It's Guignol & Mischief Brew playing together as a five-piece band. It's apotheosis anthems for the carnies, the travellers, the gypsies, jazzmen, and lowlifes; singing Turkish-flavored reveries, odes to tax evasion, dirty tricks, and mob revolution; cumbia carols, sludge-metal reels, and a funeral march at a flooded bar. Banged out at Vibromonk Studios with Danny Shatzky (Firewater, Balkan Beat Box, Gogol Bordello), Fight Dirty will appear on CD and clear vinyl in October 13, 2009." This isn't anywhere to be seen. Has anyone heard of this and know if VC will be selling the vinyl? I'm am incredibly anxious to hear how this turned out.
  20. Dark Watch. It's a pretty inventive/imaginative horror/fantasy film. And the subtitles were sometimes worked into the action on the screen. I like that a lot.
  21. The soccer mom car accident scene was brutal. Thumbs up. And I really enjoy the clever on-screen references to the list.
  22. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I love packing in free shit. You know, simple things. Fun things. Random things. Take care and so long, Detergent!
  23. I don't know if it was mentioned, but you can download the new season, episode by episode as it airs from series gringas. I still have yet to get through seasons 3 and 4. Pretty brilliant stuff though.
  24. That is great. -The smell of evaporating rain on cement or blacktop during summer showers. -Waking up to fresh snow, especially if it wasn't snowy when you went to bed. -There are few times when you have a really rude customer to deal with and the next person in line calls them out on it and makes fun of the rude individual. -Coming back to your own room/bed after a vacation or time away from it. -Waking up before the alarm. -Thunderstorms with bright skies. -Secretly buying something for someone knowing they're going to absolutely love receiving it. -The first day of "warm" weather coming out of the winter season. Sure, it's only 45-50 degrees, but it feels like 70. -Throwing your arm around a stranger at a show and singing along as loud as you possibly can. This thread is great. I'll try and think of more.
