  1. so your position is that, by me merely asking a question that even indirectly hints that i am looking to gain intel on which records to flip (i don't flip records), i flip? that's unfair, at best.
  2. what kind of asinine, bullshit allegations are these? i asked this question because i wanted to gauge how early to get in line. fuck you both.
  3. what are the titles that are expected to be in high demand in the first drop? only interested in two titles in the first drop (none, really, in the second two...unless online availability exists for non-flipper prices).
  4. early photos show that the loser edition of PN in the UK is clearly a dark opaque purple. US loser is indeed clear. edit. confirmation from sub pop that the differentiation exists. fyi. UK loser (opaque dark purple): US loser (kinda translucent smokey clear purple hue):
  5. the post morphed into a rant, written while a late-night vaginal steaming session went awry. sorry. suppose i've had a totally different experience with media mail. and for the record, i'm far from a being a spendthrift; indeed, i'm generally frugal. i view an outlay of a few extra dollars in exchange for substantially better postal service as not being outlandish...and i don't like getting damaged/mutilated records that take months to arrive after a first scan. so, yeah -- if you consider that a figment, so be it. alex, what is dashboard confessional? but you're right -- democracy might be in the process of rapid erosion, yet one fragment isn't: RSD!
  6. USPS media mail has was horrific pre-pandemic and is now a complete dumpster fire. then, USPS priority mail started going into the shitter in april. since about early april, i've bitten many a shipping cost bullet and ordered (if offered, especially if buying through an eBay/Discogs/independent seller)) with shipping strictly via FedEx 2-day at a minimum (and even FedEx express/overnight, if possible) in an attempt to avoid most problems. if ordering D2C or a mail-order division of webstore -- or an artist's webstore, i choose the highest level of shipping. extremely costly, but, so far, money well spent -- essentially no delivery delays or problems. stopped buying from international sellers, too (unless forced, in which case i have opted for the highest priority -- and tracked -- shipping method available). but now these ridiculous mini-contracts being made by USPS with FedEx/UPS/Amazon as stopgap funding measures to support fund USPS (Congress isn't taking any immediate action to address the issue), where USPS takes over control of final stages of delivery (e.g. "UPS Mail Innovations" -- what a farce; innovative?), is really m(f)ucking my hatched plan, making my monetary outlay for postage start to look beyond foolish when i pit potential postal frustration against the dent in my pocketbook.
  7. also trying to dm about a couple items...to no avail. getting blocked from dm-ing, like others. interest exists on a couple items... dropped a not-so-small amount a on bar exam prep course + materials a few years back and can empathize. still selling?
  8. create an account (if you don't already have one) and make sure you're logged in. add the items you want to you cart. at the checkout page, pick the country/region to where you want your order shipped from the drop-down menu. type in your name. for the mobile number, keep the Australian country code the same (+61) and in the mobile number field, type: 04xxxxxxxx (e.g. i typed in 04, followed by the first 8 digits of my mobile number). that should eliminate any "invalid number" error message that prevents you from proceeding to checkout. in the alternative, keep the Australian country code (+61) the same and just type in: 452070075 (this is some random, generic number for fence company in australia that has worked for me in the past). JB Hi-Fi isn't going to call you about an international online order -- they'd e-mail you with any problems. then type in your address details. pick a shipping method. then, the "Proceed to Checkout" button should illuminate to a green color, and you should be able to move on from there.
  9. there is a workaround to order internationally at JB Hi-Fi if people are encountering problems, especially with the "invalid number" hurdle that people can't get passed. i can expound if ppl want assistance. ordered the gold Room For Squares last night (shipped to USA). also, Discogs has copies of the VMP turquoise variant of Continuum flying up and being sold rapidly for around $30 to $33 shipped. keep checking if that's the only one for which you're looking. otherwise, the JB Hi-Fi exclusives can be obtained with the workaround...
  10. https://store.nbthieves.com/ varying bundles depending on the country from which you order (signed transparent LP, black LP, cassette, merch, etc.).
  11. covid-19 aside, i wouldn't mind waking up 10 mins before an early morning onsale on a website instead of getting up hours earlier and heading out into who knows what sort of weather and camping out... covid-19 included, if it gets worse (it seems like it's trending that way) near RSD there's no way i'm getting in a line. on the other hand, RSD may have to be delayed altogether. so...
  12. you play the halftime show at the super bowl, and revenue increases ensue. same sort of premise. iTunes increased all downloads of JLo's and Shakira's past albums up by a dollar minutes after they performed. strike while the iron is hot.
  13. yet another instance of where the ideals of framers of the Constitution are thwarted by partisan politics with SCOTUS political appointments by the "executive branch" (lol). 5-4 decision. guess who wrote the opinion, who joined, and who dissented.
  14. i have two tie-dyes on the way, both of which i'll swap for a green or transitional. PM me if any interest exists.
  15. yeah -- sorry for the confusion. 5000 deluxe books D2C online; 1400 books in stores. numbers on the ltd. ed. orange (non-book) are indeed still unknown; after searching through my cache, that language appeared on the "indie exclusive" listing on the zia records website, but has subsequently been removed.
  16. i found it earlier this morning and the details were on the page of a random record store as i was trying to ascertain whether there'd be an orange variant that isn't the full deluxe (ofc, i should've come here first yesterday to be informed there is going to be such a variant, lol.) i forget where i saw it. i'll try to track it down in my browsing history and post it if i uncover it.
  17. never claimed to be an expert on anything. most, or, at the very least, have a substantial influence in production. not a huge fan of outside influencers traipsing in; although, i admit, some outside production has, indeed, been "life-saving" for some albums. i'm one of those people who are engaged in a select few artists in particular for extreme dedication to their product and not rely on a whole host of others to generate final material. not to say that i don't listen to a whole bunch of other artists who aren't of that ilk, but yeah. and i guess at this point i'm just gonna shut the hell up and hope people "like" the fact that i'm going to do so. trying to make amends in some way, but, on this board -- tough crowd. lesson learned. civility going forward.
  18. for the record, i dislike sufjan altogether...and beach house, save one album. the clause "foisted on us because, you know..." was not intended in any way, shape, or form to reference, even indirectly, the LGBTQIA (i digress -- that acronym gets longer seemingly by the day...but i don't care...) community or persons of color. i was simply trying to (unsuccessfully, and, indeed controversially, apparently) express my dislike for music that strikes me as that which i am confounded as to why so many people go goo-goo over. alas, to each his own; indeed, de gustibus non est disputandum. i apologize if my comments came across that way; i'm not here to create havoc. i collect / am connected with...in a somewhat weirdly attenuated way (yes, cryptic)...with one artist in particular -- whose genre of music lies far afield from either of those artists. i hope this clears some air. again, i apologize to all those who i offended.
  19. snagged an indie orange at plaid room before they sold out with a promo code, but w/ shipping...came out to 26.49. no love lost if you buy from amoeba, essentially. however, amoeba tends to cut off sales when they fear overselling preorders, so i'd act sooner rather than later. or, go over to bullmoose ($32 + shipping) and rack up some more points if you're one of those peeps. fat beats also seems to have some copies available, but i have no experience w/ them. rough trade -- take your chances. caveat emptor. past experience w/ them has led to cancelled preorders due to overselling. it appears there will be 1,400 non-EXPOSED ORANGE CLOTH SPINE AND ORANGE GILT EDGING AND FINISHED WITH BODONIAN BINDING-book version copies around when all is said and done.
  20. lizzo. are you kidding me? backing tracks + forklift + god knows what else do to a live show? no thanks. i'm not buying a record produced by, essentially, everyone other than the "artist" and foisted upon us simply because, well, you know... she's not even above average vocally; indeed, actually she is the equivalent of a shitty, local lounge singer -- at best. that slays me. why are people so enamored with her? what the hell are y'all listening to otherwise? doo-doo?
  21. + it's only / 600, which isn't a whole hell of a lot for one pressing. demand > supply in this sort of situation, no doubt.
  22. that's why i went for the one copy last week. didn't want to risk order cancellation. i bet that TTL tweet was an indirect reference to people who exceeded the limit.
