listened to this twice over the weekend and couldn't pull out anything other than meh. I'm trying to see the hype in this project but it's not there for me.

zzzz it's getting old and fyi, all my ETR releases were played on my Technics SL-1700 with M97XE Jico Sas and still sound great. if you're gonna trash a label for something, at least get your facts straight

anyone have HB on the Newbury clear vinyl and can comment on sound quality? I've been wanting to grab a copy but discogs says the first track (montezuma) is pretty bad

you can't really compare this album to anything else in their discography, it's an much mellowed acoustic concept album. it's not meant to be "in your face"

I don't want to rain on this parade but the last 4-5 things (over a 1-2 year period) I've ordered from them showed up significantly damaged because they just throw records in their mailers without anything holding them in place. granted, the mailers themselves are pretty good, the whole protection aspect is kinda blown when your record is thrashing in it from one coast to another. they are also not very good with responding to these issues as well. /r
