  1. Never done a podcast before, but I'd love to do a ska/reggae one if you guys are interested. I have a PC microphone that I could use. What kind of software is required to do one?
  2. ok...so I am getting a kick out of the comments... I wonder how many idiots bought these and how expensive they were... On a side note, somebody needs to make Hawaii and Alaska brass knuckles, so you when somebody asks why they aren't in there, you can punch them in the face and say "Here's your Hawaii and Alaska bitch"... just a thought.
  3. Is this the show that Off! Is playing with them?
  4. One of my earliest exposures to ska... The theme song is two-tone army by The Toasters! But yeah, great show, I'd love to watch this on Netflix!
  5. The Slackers - Absolutely amazing live. As good as their albums are, they're amazing live. I couldn't see them too many times. The Aggrolites - Same as above. One of the best bands I've ever seen live. Against Me! - Last time I saw them was around the time New Wave came out and everybody was giving that album shit. Those songs translated alot better live, and I'm sure the same is true of White Crosses when everybody was giving it shit too.
  6. If I buy an LP from a flea market / garage sale / estate sale / whatever for really cheap, does that entite me to own the music digitally? I've always wondered this. I mean, I technically already own the music, I guess I would only really be paying for the convience of taking it with me on my phone / portable device... Also I don't necessarily agree with the "cost of stealing" argument. In today's society, it's pretty much necessary to have a computer and internet. It literally would have made my job hunt / putting together resume's and cover letters impossible if I didn't have a PC and internet. Also, I pay all bills electronically or automatically. I don't have or need a smart phone. All these "costs" of stealing music are necessary anyways, so it's not like I just have the internet and a PC exclusively to steal music so I see this argument invalid. I agree with Bomb the Music Industry!'s model. I'll get it from the label LEGALLY for free, and if I like it enough I'll buy it on vinyl, go to shows and buy a t-shirt.
  7. Yes! Would be awesome! I'm going to see them in Atlanta in July, so excited. I haven't seen them since Warped 2009? Maybe? Also, do you know if Suburban Legends are going to have the Rump Shaker LP w/ them on tour? I'd like to pick that up and save the shipping if it is...
  8. Does anybody know when this is comming out or when it's being released? Or most importantly, is it getting pressed on vinyl? I think chances of it getting pressed is pretty good considering every release since "Strictly Rude" has been pressed on vinyl. Preorders are up at Interpunk, SRC and Side One Dummy. The Side One Dummy has a poster with it as well as a deluxe package w/ a tshirt. http://store.sideonedummy.com/big-d-and-the-kids-table-strictly-dub-double-lp-black-vinyl.html
  9. I do support gay rights, however, I have a feeling I'd probably get stoned to death just by walking around in public with the shirt on here... Either that or old people would feel obligated to preach to me... Both of which are unpleasant
  10. I liked Drake and Josh. I always noticed the "The Slackers" sticker that was stuck on his bed cause it was the same one I had on my car. Don't know whether the producer just stuck a bunch of band stickers to the bed to make it look cool, or some set designer was a fan of the band, but either way I thought it was cool.
  11. The Lillingtons "Death By Television" at a local Charleston record store for 6 or 7$. At the time, didn't know the band, how rare it was, and what it was worth, I just saw what record label it was on, knowing it was a punk label, and decided to pick it up because it was cheap. Finding this record sparked my love for both the Lillingtons and Teenage Bottlerocket. Definately best find so far. 2nd best was two dutch pressings of Beatles 45's for 1$ a piece at an estate sale. It turned out that the family had moved to the area from Germany, so they had a bunch of stuff from Europe.
  12. Just curious, what's on the Slackers 7"? I didn't pre-order, so I'm not getting it, but just wanna know what's on it...
  13. Don't Let me Down I Want You (she's so heavy) (Love the keyboard parts in this song) Obla di obla da (What can I say, I like ska)
  14. No particular order: The Skints - Part and Parcel The Pinstripes - I The Forthrights - S/T E.P. Off - S/T Classics of Love - S/T Alabama Shakes - Boys and Girls Jack White - Blunderbuss Most anticipated: Teenage Bottlerocket - Freak Out! Obi Fernandez - Confessions, Waves and the Garden State No Doubt - Push and Shove The Beatdown - Walking Proud Also, I guess I need to get my ears checked, because I just don't understand what everybody likes so much about the Menzingers. I tried to give "On The Impossible Past" a listen, and I just don't get why everybody has been going crazy about it. Maybe I should try it again...
  15. and how can you name the album "Push and Shove" and NOT have it be a ska album... I really do hope it's actually good. Ok, I'm done now... end rant...
  16. I think maybe the guys should just start their own band without Gwen. Get another singer. Maybe the chick from Save Ferris. Then they wouldn't have to deal with all this major label corporate bullshit...
  17. Yeah, I didn't hear any of this news... kinda bummed about that. When I saw them in 2009, they were great. Full horn section, keyboards, the whole works. As I mentioned, even did a cover of Guns of Navarone. I'm really hoping the ska influences didn't get COMPLETELY pushed out... I guess whether I'll be picking this up depends on what this first single that's comming out in about a month sounds like...
  18. I wish I was here when some of those epic threads were going down...laxative pizza was one of the funniest things I've seen in my life... I think somebody needs to stir the shit in the pot again...
  19. LOL... I shouldn't have been drinking water when I scrolled down to see Crabcore...
  20. Video games, mostly Nintendo stuff. Super Nintendo and n64 mostly.
  21. I'm still keeping my fingers cross for "Back with a New Batch"... Wasn't that mentioned somewhere?
