  1. Sweet. I haven't listened to the album yet but have heard good things.
  2. I was planning on starting Christmas shopping today but ended up going to 2 local record shops instead. Twist and Shout: Neurosis - Given to the Rising Wax Trax: Om - Variations on a Theme PMFS - Mercy I have a dumb question on the PMFS Mercy album I picked up. On the plastic the store wrote "First Pressing: Grey splatter vinyl". When I got home and opened it it looked more like a purplish grey splatter. Do you think this is purple? I don't have that many No Idea LPs so I wasn't sure.
  3. Exactly, make sure you use the "pots and pans" cycle, though.
  4. I've officially moved to beer. Tommyknocker, to be exact. Watching some basketball, too. Exciting stuff.
  5. Starting with wine, will be moving to beer soon. Just bought a January plane ticket to SF to hang with some friends. Going to an Om show, drink, Amoeba records, drink, videogames, drink.
  6. True, great bad. Lucky to have had them local here. Jon and Chad sounded so good together, it sucks that they are done.
  7. I was going to school at CU when they closed the Wax Trax in Boulder. Sadness soon descended. Yeah, Albums on the Hill never did it for me.
  8. Agreed. Tennessee is probably the closest to being a "skip-free" album for me.
  9. Sweet, ordered. That's everything (PMFS) on vinyl now, isn't it?
  10. dude, they are gorgeous. im not sure if theyre 180g, but definitely heavier grade than usual relapse records. the purple one is sick and the artwork is just killer. Cool, thanks man. It's definitely on my short list.
  11. I spend way too much money at Twist and Shout and Wax Trax. Haven't been to Black and Read but need to check that out. Double Entendre (RIP) used to be a great store, too.
  12. Also, please don't scream the lyrics to every fucking song in my ear. I paid to hear the band, not your crappy singing.
  13. Not sure if there are any Dystopia fans on the board but this is some welcome news. DYSTOPIA s/t - LP/CD LIFE 040 Release date: January 2008 At long last, the final Dystopia full length will see the light of day. This record contains 6 new tracks, plus a cover of an unreleased song by Dino's old band CARCINOGEN. Recorded at Tim Green's LOUDER STUDIOS during various sessions between 2004-2005, this record is the last chapter of Dystopia's existence writing bleak and heavy doom ridden punk. The LP will be released in January with an editon of 2,000 copies on clear vinyl, along with a 16 page booklet. CD will come out shortly after. You can check out a couple of tracks HERE. http://www.myspace.com/dystopia
  14. It's a pain in the ass but I just take it in and out of the box. No dustcover is a big minus, though.
  15. I've got this one. I like it for the price. The sound is decent, but I wish it had a dust cover and an auto-return. The software it comes with took me some time to get used to. As far as the weight of the arm, it has a counter-weight so you can adjust the amount of pressure on the needle.
  16. That's pretty cool, just be careful when you order the brownies from him. I heard their new band is pretty killer, I haven't found anything yet though.
  17. Check out the packaging on this Bongzilla re-release. (click on news) I can't wait, too bad it's in Europe. http://www.modusoperandi.de/start.html
  18. That 2nd "No Salvation" pressing is so sweet looking.
  19. Does anyone notice a difference in sound quality between black and colored? I know this has probably been discussed many times before but I know people that won't get anything but black. (I don't have black and color copies of anything to compare). I've also heard that the natural color of vinyl is a clear, yellowish color, so I would think that would technically have the least amount of impurities to effect the sound. My system right now isn't good enough to tell any sort of difference, anyway. I was just curious.
  20. how is the packaging for this? nice gatefold? thick vinyl? printed sleeves? im interested in picking this up, but $25 is a little steep. great record, though! The packaging is nice. The gatefold is really cool and shiny (no printed sleeves). The vinyl is thick, and it's a more reflective black. I agree, it was a little pricy ($20 + $4 S&H). Great record and had to have it, though!
