  1. I get promo e-mails from Universal, and here's some vinyl releases they have planned for the upcoming months. April 10th Iron Maiden – En Vivo! (2LP Picture Disc) April 24th Bob Marley & The Wailers - Marley OST (3LP) SOUNDTRACK FROM BOB MARLEY MOVIE ‘MARLEY’ TO BE RELEASED ON APRIL 17, 2012 - FIRST-EVER FAMILY AUTHORIZED DOCUMENTARY ON THE LIFE OF BOB MARLEY IN THEATRES AND ON DEMAND IN THE U.S. APRIL 20 The Third World’s first superstar and arguably the most recognizable human being on the planet, reggae giant BOB MARLEY is celebrated this year in a film by Academy Award-winning director Kevin Macdonald. MARLEY, which received a rapturous reception at its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival on Feb 12, will open in U.S. theaters on April 20, 2012, with all VOD and digital platforms, through Wagner/Cuban Company’s Magnolia Pictures. The film features stunning live performances, intimate interviews with friends and family, and rare documentary footage – all of which tells the definitive story of the superstar who rose from the ghetto to become one of the greats of popular music before dying tragically young at the height of his fame. As an integral companion piece to this critically acclaimed documentary, the official soundtrack from MARLEY will be released through Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) on April 17, 2012, as a 2-CD collection and a special 3-LP vinyl set. Featured are classic studio recordings, a special Kindred Spirit dub mix of “Exodus” and tracks from various live performances including, for the first time on record, the 1978 One Love Peace Concert performance of “Jammin’” during which Marley joined the hands of bitter political rivals Michael Manley and Edward Seaga, a gesture which went some way towards restoring peace to a strife-torn Jamaica. 3. Flaming Lips info (just showed up in my in-box from WB PR): THE FLAMING LIPS READY EXCLUSIVE ALBUM FOR RECORD STORE DAY FEATURING COLLABORATIONS WITH AN ALL-STAR CAST March 20, 2012 - (Burbank, CA) -- In between one-off shows scattered around the world in the past several months THE FLAMING LIPS have still found time to record a series of unique and experimental sessions for an album featuring a diverse cross-section of heavy friends from every corner of the musical cosmos. THE FLAMING LIPS AND HEADY FWENDS includes vocal and musical assistance from such disparate playmates as Yoko Ono, Nick Cave, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Bon Iver, Ke$ha and many more. Some of these tracks have already appeared on previously released, extremely limited edition color vinyl 12" EPs released in past months, which sold out as soon as they became available. Most of the tracks on the album are being released here for the first time and will surprise even the most ardent LIPS fans. THE FLAMING LIPS AND HEADY FWENDS will be pressed on two high-quality, multi-color vinyl discs housed in separate custom art jackets and poly bagged together. No two discs will look exactly alike. This double album will be very limited and released exclusively for RECORD STORE DAY. Once it's gone, it will not be repressed again making THE FLAMING LIPS AND HEADY FWENDS the most anticipated RSD release this year. Track-listing for THE FLAMING LIPS AND HEADY FWENDS is as follows: Side 1: 2012 (featuring Ke$ha and Biz Markie) Ashes In The Air (featuring Bon Iver) Helping The Retarded To Know God (featuring Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) Side 2: Supermoon Made Me Want To Pee (featuring Prefuse 73) Children Of The Moon (featuring Tame Impala) That Ain't My Trip (featuring Jim James of My Morning Jacket) You, Man? Ferociously beautiful! This single is part of our on-going Side by Side 2012 Series, which was initially introduced in 2011. All are exclusive for Record Store Day on uniquely colored and extremely limited edition 7" vinyl singles, featuring Warner artists covering other historic and personally influential iconic artists.
  4. Updated, prices lowered, combo deals available.
  5. I've bought a ton of DVDs from these guys, and they're legit. Their ads are pretty great, too.
  6. The 2009 and 2010 Kepi Valentine's cards, as well as the Asian Man Christmas 2009 card. I'd prefer to sell all three as a lot. Make offers. Details as follows: V-Day 2009 #'d 151/200 1. Kiss the Girl 2. Supermodel V-Day 2010 #'d 108/330 1. Sleeping Beauty 2. Jetpack X-Mas 2009 #'d 104/500 1. Kepi Ghoulie "Christmas on Zombie Island" 2. Hot Toddies "Santa Baby" 3. MU330 "December" 4. 7. There's a 14 (?) volume set that this guy compiled, called "Lux & Ivy's Favorites." It features any and all songs mentioned by either of them in any interview. Lots of them can be found on the "Songs the Cramps Taught Us" comps, but there's sooooo much more. You can torrent them, or find them on Soulseek. They had 'em on the WMFU blog for a while, too. Edit: The WFMU blog has the first 11 volumes - http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2009/02/lux-and-ivys-favorites-mp3s.html
  8. Recent finds: the Clash, "Black Market Clash" Danger Mouse & Daniele Lupi, "Rome"
  9. Ordered that Unabombers 7-inch, too, while I was at it.
  10. Vinyl's awesome, but if you're putting out CDs, that's cool, too.
  11. Back in action after a lengthy holiday break. If you've got stuff to plug, hit me up.
  12. Mine finally showed up. Looks nice. Would've preferred an actual sleeve, but whatever. My copy of "Are You With the Band?" has no labels. It's fucking weird.
  13. Vinyl LPs Andrew Bird - Useless Creatures Belle & Sebastian - Write About Love David Bazan - Curse Your Branches Sarah McLachlan - Laws of Illusion Books Geek Girls Unite by Leslie Simon Invincible Vol. 5 TPB Technical Communication by John Lannon And a size medium Planet Express from Futurama. http://www.ebay.com/sch/thenuthouse/m.html
  14. Pretty sure this is my first and last order from them ever. Don't make a big deal about "sale!" and then take three damned weeks to get it in the mail.
  15. The idea that if someone else says it, you can then do so, is ridiculous. Their repetition of your error just means two people are wrong instead of one.
  16. This is my first time dealing with Paper + Plastick directly. I'm nervous.
  17. I went into Love Garden here in Lawrence around 1:30 or so, and they had four copies of the box set. Sold out of the Fear single, of course. Dammit.
