  1. OK maybe I'm overthinking things but I just paste "http://www.vinylmeplease.com/refer-a-friend/" and it works for the other person even though I don't see the widget (whose image appears in the FAQ) when I click through to that page myself? Because that's not the "fbuy.whatever" url link everyone else is using here...
  2. How does the referral system work? The instructions mention a "widget" but there's none to be found on the link in the FAQ section.
  3. This is a great Bowie at the Beeb vinyl boxset. It's a great price at 40 quid especially if you got Prime: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bowie-Radio-Sessions-68-72-VINYL/dp/B019PJII6O/?tag=sdewidg-21
  4. P.S. Newbury Comics has Pagans In Vegas clear edition for 9.99 at the moment.
  5. I'm older than the average fanbase and really only came around to this particular album recently, having known VMP was releasing it (I was the right age for the first album, though). This is a much better album, no question, and might be their best (even considering all those good new singles). At the time I probably 1. Found it too glum, as living through the Bush Iraq years was bad enough; didn't need a soundtrack for it... and 2. It was holding up the sequel to Think Tank in my mind, which had by then grown on me (it's got some of the best Blur songs even though it really doesn't work as an album). I was also waaaaay into experimental, free-folk psych-game stuff like Charalambides and Sunburned Hand of Man so I wasn't really feeling pop sounds either.
  6. There's probably hardly anything good left but Norman Records has been having a 60% sale all day: https://www.normanrecords.com/reduced I was seconds too late to buy Colleen's Everyone Alive Wants Answers reissue! Kind of kills me. I think there's like an hour left or something. Just got home. EDIT: Lots of obscure UK indie 7inches, CDs and CDrs for the adventurous...
  7. I'll have to check it out. Even though I'm big into SP I haven't tracked down all their early comp tracks. Also exclusive Westerberg is pretty neat, especially if it's the first stuff he released just after the Replacements' break up.
  8. Old enough to have been around for that soundtrack but the film would not have made it to the small town I was living in, at least not for more than a few weeks at best. I think it has more to do with hip-hop already replacing grunge by 1992 for my peer group. I'm sure some older kids were into it, but I remember them talking about stuff like Sex, Lies and Videotapes instead.
  9. They went from swampy alt-country with and electronic samples in the background to Spoon at their most groovy. Phosphorescent is a good call for this. I might sit this one out but I like when bands keep evolving. I'm sure their live show is great. I'd buy a live album if they ever record one...
  10. So weird that no one I know ever talked about this growing up... Maybe it's just taken for granted and I missed that boat. This one too: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Sub-Pop-200/release/1543447
  11. Inside cover. So the new VMP Exclusives include the soundtrack to Belladonna of Sadness, which is a weird, psych-prog jam for the most trippy 70s Japanese anime film ever.
  12. Whoa, pays to click through to the payment window! Thanks for that. I got the same charge. That's nifty to say the least. It's the cheapest option on the market!
  13. Well I would think that if there are exclusive tracks, that would be the first and most prominent reason why there's a rush to own this reissue for us less in the know. You're the first to point it out, though.
  14. I don't think I'll ever get it. At least other 90s soundtracks like Romeo + Juliet, Batman Forever and Mission:Impossible had exclusive tracks or b-sides by bands that were hard to find back then. Does this have exclusive tracks? I feel besides "Pearl Jam collectors buy everything" and "baby's first grunge compilation" I haven't been given an explanation for the love of this.
  15. What price did you see, cuz it's back to 46.39 gbp now.
  16. I had a slightly delay on a UK parcel... I figure recent world events had a tiny role grounding some flights. Lose a few hours and you lose a day or two.
  17. Got them all a couple weeks ago plus a new volume of the Obscura Zine and the tote bag which is nice. Have yet to listen to them (I'm really behind on my listening) but the gatefolds are looking snazzy.
  18. I'm somewhere in between both of you. I do feel like I'm being sold stuff that I either own or that my eyes have glazed over at the record store for years/decades for over 80% of the VMP catalog and around 70% for NC. NC has a back stock that speaks to me more, mostly cuz they have a lot of genre differentiation and I could stand owning more jazz standards than I do, and they have a good selection. VMP has more electronic, which NC should do more of IMO (Their Com Truise exclusives rn is a good step in that direction). I mean, Boomkat puts out some decent exclusives, but not like these two dedicated merchants. Bought my first NC order the other day and subscribed for VMP 3 months, due to Demon Days. I hope the rumours of a female electronic lp next month are true; I don't have too many of those besides the odd Goldfrapp and Ladytron. Besides, I could always swap for that The Chills reissue if it doesn't pan out or the June release ends up being something I don't want.
  19. That explains an absurd charge I got from a UK reseller (basically the cost of the item all over again) that I've essentially never gotten before. That leaves only the EU nation-states for "cheapest" shipping outside of Canada for vinyl at the moment. I might just have to only buy local from now on and give up direct/mail-order, which I have from the States. Can't buy direct from fave labels like TRL and Important anymore. But hey, I grabbed that gorgeous colour lp of the new Jacaszek from a local store the other day, and you guys really try much harder than most other labels (*cough* Light In The Attic charging a flat 19USD shipping fee per item *cough*) with the best rates, so I don't sweat.
  20. AMAZING!!! Ordered... Wow, never thought I'd get my hands on this. My credit card got a beating on this one but it's 100% worth it.
