  6. Still looking to pick up some HWM, Lifetime, etc. I would certainly entertain some trades or sales. thanks... www.deadformat.net/tradelist/deadreckoning
  7. I don't think anyone mentioned this, but it's now up at side one dummy. The "picks up where fumble left off" has me a bit worried. however, i dig scream and will certainly pick this up. Besides, it looks like there is a ruts cover. '>http://store.sideonedummy.com/scream-complete-control-sessions.html
  8. before the internets buying records was saving up ahead of big shows, which had tables of distros and kids selling their collections; piling everyone in the car to head to the record shop several towns away; searching bin after bin of used crap to find the few gems; buying records from xeroxed distro sheets where most of the records were already sold out (i think i still have a few credit slips from very and lumberjack); it was fun... Most older records were fairly cheap ($10 for a used 7" would have been nuts). New LPs were cheaper than cds (that's why i picked up a lot of LPs), pressing info was harder to come by, mostly word of mouth. It took some time to develop the knowledge base. However, it was fun to find a record of a band you liked that you never heard of or seen before. It was not as convenient, but an exciting time nonetheless and i look back fondly.
  9. I'm really stoked to hear the AF cover, they are definitely in my top 5 as far as hardcore bands go. Overall I'm pleasantly surprised with the song selection as a whole. even people in new york found ray cappo annoying, not too big of a surprise there.
  10. Very respectable indeed. I think there are at least six versions of that Rebuilding comp. Also I think the yellow label Forever comp came in a brighter yellow and a lighter/tan yellow sleeve. Never noticed the different labels on that TP/NE split, I want to go home right now and check my copies. I heave heard of a black and white sleeve for the rebuilding comp. However, i am not sure if they are referring to the one i have, which is a really light pale green. I have seen a purple sleeve with a black label record though. Have you seen other copies/presses? There are also the 12" presses of the combines rebuilding comp, TP/NE split 7", and forever comp. That should have two covers (earlier dark big pic sleeve and later green small pic sleeve), with at least one run on colored vinyl (for the green sleeve i believe). I have seen a yellow label forever comp with a light yellow sleeve. I will keep an eye for other sleeves.
  11. incomplete, but respectable turning point collection. If being a completist.. missing the black pressings of the LP, earlier pressings of the s/t 7", yellow label version of the forever comp 7" and all the Words to live by comp 7" pressings. I always assumed the yellow labels were the 1st press for the rebuilding 7" and no escape split 7", but i have seen a blue label split 7" on yellow wax.
  12. true true. my bad on the typo. The 7" is awesome. I didn't pay much for it, a few bucks. I have a copy already - i just picked it up cause it was so cheap. That said, I paid significantly more recently for a gold copy of the rebuilding comp 7". i should now have all the press for the rebuilding comp and Turning Point/ No escape split 7"s. i should post a pic.
  13. so wrong. more black more better. mine has at least 3.5mm more black. It's not a split per se, but think of pac-man crossed with a boomslang. Scratch that - black mamba. A black mamba ingesting the quivering white mouse. I think this was intentional on their part. Should only be a handful of these at most. i like the record and all, good DOA cover, but i suppose... i could be enticed to let it go to a real collector, someone who has the means to really appreciate, for uhmm say a few grand or more.
  14. how long ago did this happen? those names were posted in this thread months ago. tobefreeforonce --> that was it. I think it was for a Bouncing Souls Live at Generation Records on red. won it easily and never paid. that was around the end of May.
  15. this guy is even throwing in the carpet fibers for free. http://cgi.ebay.com/NOFX-Hardcore-7-Clea....item3c ba831ade
  16. crap. he won a record from me and never paid, nor did i receive any communication, even though i sent him several emails. I ended up canceling the transaction.
  17. school kids is on hillsborough, right? i do miss raleigh. i miss dalat most of all. My 10" looks different than yours. Can i make a lot on the internet with it.
  18. went with no idea. they have always done right by me. i will gladly give them my money, irrespective of the rarity and color. My question is, will there be a download code with the no idea or other versions?
  19. it's like 110 out. I hope these are not salad bowls by the time i get home.
  20. i agree. i use the 3mil 12 5/8 in2 "Laser Disc" poly sleeves from Bags Unlimited for single LPs. You might just fit in a double lp, maybe. Otherwise go with the bigger sleeve. Resealable sleeves are a bad idea, especially if you plan on playing the record more than once a year. Anything less than 3 mil is too flimsy. For seven inches i will go with a 4 mil poly sleeve also from Bags Unlimited. i recently bought a 4 x 4 expendit. I dig it, but god help me if i have to move this thing. It turns like a '58 Cadillac and weights almost as much.
  21. Tank - Power of the Hunter - limited CD Tank - This Means War - limited CD Pentagram - First Daze Here - CD HWM / Casket Lottery Split 7" - 2nd press - Slate Gray /288 HWM - Fuel for the Hate Game 12" - 4th Press - Red Signal Lost - You'll never let us down again 7" - 1st Press - Blue Turning Point / No Escape split 7" - 1st Press - Gold /100 who knew you were able to buy decent music with credit card points...
  22. i agree, it's gets a bit silly at times, particularly with the no idea mushes or "streaks" in colored vinyl. In the present case, it was something somewhat interesting and unexpected. These records were pressed in separate batches (i think rev may have ordered more to meet the demand). Thus, they couldn't get the color to match exactly. They can be differentiated. However, it's not that big of a deal, even Revelation hasn't played it up at all. But, it happened and here are pictures for those interested.
  23. i will buy this and keep the live 7"s. I ripped them all to mp3s and loaded them to the sansa. No need to keep flipping 7"s. This should drive down their prices. Although the same amount were pressed for each record, the 1st one still goes for a mint. Maybe it the psychology of RSD, or they're all held by procrastinating flippers. Number 5 is awesome, worth its weight in oil. For the 3xLPs i think they should press all the colors of the 7" series, but in differing quantities based on the release order for each LP. Thus, blue <....
