My mind is working so hard to like this song and to find a silver lining within its sound..

every 16-year old youtube commenter didn't seem to have much trouble: "its not their old rock n rolly sound like 'Beverly Hills' but it sure is funky!!! :DD D"

no, its just generic 2018 pop.

How rampant was the warping on the pink LP's? My copy was fine.

The prevalence of warping will likely never be known as 1/3 of these were bought by tweens that don't own a turntable, 1/3 were purchased by vaporkids unconcerned with actual vinyl audio quality, and the final 1/3 are sitting in Todd's basement.

Looks to be out of 5000 with the first 500 numbered and on the site above. Article:

'Together with “The Dance”, “Enter” was released on CD only, back in the early Within Temptation days. The band will now release this release on strictly limited quantities and special coloured vinyl discs. The vinyl package of “Enter” includes a 4-page booklet with pictures and lyrics. The first pressing is available as a limited edition of 5000 individually numbered copies on coloured (transparent green, solid white & black mixed) vinyl. Numbers 1-500 are exclusively reserved and available via the official Within Temptation webstore. Release is set for 12 October 2018. '

  5. I guess I just don't understand how its "shitty and harmful on a macro level" (but... youre not offended) to use a term that means something objectively bad to mean something else objectively bad. Both of your examples don't compare, because one is ("gay=lame") which is obvious why it could be offensive to some, and ("retarded=really stupid"), which is also obvious why it could be offensive. But no one is saying rape is good by using it how they do on the internet. You are suggesting words that mean serious things should only be used to talk about those serious things, I guess? You're just fighting the wrong fight, but if that is the struggle you must bear to do right in the world, so be it.

Dan Harmon has been, in my opinion, sincere about knowing he needed to change and working towards changing for the better. Long before this video resurfaced. Same with James Gunn, again BEFORE the resurfacing of near decades old tweets. IIRC Harmon even took that video down years ago shortly after posting it.

These attacks are coming from alt-right trolls who are 100% not actually upset by the material. That Mike Cerovich (or whatever, I'm not looking him up to spell his name right) dude was charged with rape and pleaded down to battery. He makes blog posts about how date rape isn't really rape. About how if a girl doesn't want to fuck you the best thing to do is pull your dick out and masturbate. These aren't jokes, he really advocates this.

So yeah, some of us understand context and encourage people to make positive changes rather than weaponize tweets/skits that have long ago been apologized for.

Never heard of any of these people before today, and dont really care about the backstory. Was just making an observation. People constantly gang up on posters on this board who use a colloquial phrase with no ill-intent, yet there is adamant defense for a creative person  who made a tasteless skit that is specifically intended to be comedic and downplays the act of rape by turning it into (again, tasteless) comedy.
