This is really cool. Original format, open preorder, decent price. I always wondered what it would be like to hold a Minor Threat 7” in my hands.

This is a contender for the stupidest thing I have ever read. Are they really going to design an entire variant scheme, drop schedule and sneaky sales practice around the possibility that one person is going to spend 3 seconds of his personal time to post a for sale ad online, for an imaginary price that no one is even going to buy? If they really cared about that shit, they’d have pressed the entire run on “boring black.” Pressing nine variants of 300 each is probably making their so-called concern more of a reality. They’re trying to sucker fans into buying more than one copy directly from them as opposed to buying any secondhand. No one is going to fall victim to The Flipper on this record. It’s not fucking Ocean Avenue. Which reminds me, my yellow OA is for sale - $18,000. Because it feels so right.

Here’s my take on your question. Era 1 of the band is Albums 1 and 2. They’re unlistenable and always have been. Era 2 is Albums 3 and 4. They were really great screamo albums in their day, and carry a lot of influential weight. I grew out of them by about 2006. Era 3 is Albums 5-7. These are the albums I enjoyed the most, and still listen to deep into my 30’s. Although DTGL was their peak and they get progressively worse. The first rule of Album 8 is we don’t talk about Album 8.

This is correct. In 2019, Craft issued the remastered TAYF on iridescent green and black at the same time. They also facilitated the reissues of the Warner Bros. records all on black. The only album left out was WYWTB for some reason. I have Victory pressings of the first two albums from the mid 2010s - neither of them sound bad. They’re just fine. TAYF needed a remaster (or remix) to get rid of that high pitched squeal on the vocal track, but the Craft pressing didn’t even achieve that, so it’s pointless. WYWTB doesn’t need a full remaster, maybe just a couple tweaks for the vinyl format would be nice. Finally, I don’t know why people need represses of any of these albums. There’s tens of thousands of them out there, and they were $15 up until this year. It’s like as soon as something goes out of print, people freak out and it demands a repress. No wonder plants are backed up until 2022.

Same. 18 year old me is so pleased I finally get to own a copy of this record. When I got into it, the first press was long gone, so I gave up looking for a while. Then the hot topic presses came and went in a flash when I wasn’t looking and were instantly $250. Then came the copies in those fucking box sets weighed down with so much dog shit that I would never want. Now, finally, I can retire this search. Gonna spend the 200 bucks I saved on a nice bottle of Lagavulin and a couple packs of Captain Blacks.
