  1. If you search eBay, there are a few stores that carry both albums.
  2. Do what I do and spring for the abortion instead. Saves a shitload of money down the road.
  3. Whoa. Was that up for five minutes or something? Luckily I got mine in case they run out before they make it to Saskatchewan.
  4. I just got my records shipped to my new house up in the woods. It is an awesome feeling to unpack but an even better one to be reunited with your collection after being apart for so long. Plus, I can honestly say that I have the best (only) record collection out of anyone around here (Waskesiu, Saskatchewan).
  5. Taken from the Man's Ruin entry on wikipedia: "Often an album would be released in several different sets, such as the first release from Queens of the Stone Age in 1998, which was released on Man's Ruin in three editions: 2500 black, 300 green, 200 orange/yellow (a subsequent pressing of 198 copies on blue vinyl was made independently by the band as a "tour edition")."
  6. I saw The Dirtbombs last night and they pretty much rocked their way into being one of my favourite bands ever. They had a lot of vinyl for merch, including lots of rare stuff - the split with Kelley Stoltz, an Australian only pressing, and a weird European 7" that was hand-numbered out of 250 - lots of stuff that will likely go for quite a bit on eBay (but who does that? For shame!). Also, I picked up their new LP and got the whole band to autograph it for my gf's bday - they were all incredibly nice. Make sure you go check them out if you have a chance.
  7. Death From Above - Heads Up! - 1st pressing on clear /200. Which is ironic considering I've had a lot of offers out of nowhere lately.
  8. Thunder Down Under was released on Swami so it's legit. I don't think too many were pressed, however. After it was released you could get them for $10. Now they are pretty hard to come by. Also, there are two different colours of vinyl that I've seen but no idea what the numbers are.
  9. Hey everyone. I am currently hunting down any Nomeansno vinyl that I don't have. I am looking for: Live and Cuddly 2xLP Power of Positive Thinking LP Why Do They Call Me Mr Happy? LP as well as the following, likely non-existant: In The Fishtank LP Mama LP Would prefer to buy but could be persuaded to trade.
  10. Nothing like getting a nice solid stack of mail after being away from home for a month... 11. Last minute Montreal purchase... Turbonegro - Apocalypse Dudes, Man's Ruin version on pink marble vinyl. Fuck yes!
  12. My Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal/New York/Quebec City tour ends tonight with a Dead Meadow show (last night I saw Lucero!) and a sick bunch of records. I can't wait to get home to listen to them. AFGHAN WHIGS - What Jail Is Like GADJITS, THE - Wish We Never Met GUTTER TWINS, THE - Saturnalia HANSON BROTHERS - My Game HIGH ON FIRE - Live NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS - Nocturama PANTHERS - Thanks For The Simulacra 12" single RANCID - Out Come The Wolves (non pic disc, still sealed for $8!!! Can I get a fuck yes!) SWORD, THE - Gods Of The Earth GREEN DAY - Kerplunk! TOM WAITS - Frank's Wild Years
  13. agreed, the quality on the doomrider split was piss poor and not really all that great. but hey, sounded like a good idea at the time That record was awesome for the Doomriders side alone. "This next song goes out to everyone who rides a skateboard!" Let's see some pics of the Boris/Merzbow already!
  14. Hey. Anybody who has heard the Boris/Merzbow live record - is it worth it or interesting enough to own if you already have the Boris/Doomriders live 2xLP? Thanks.
  15. This record is amazing and is completely worth tracking down. I couldn't find it for the longest time and finally found a copy and then I started seeing this in stores everywhere. Oh well, happy hunting.
  16. I saw a copy of "If It Was You" yesterday in a store for $17. Should I go pick it up for tradsies with anyone?
  17. Damn, I'm not having much luck in Toronto. Anywhere else that nobody has mentioned?
  18. Go to the Alamo Movie Theatre - they'll serve you beer there. Beerland is an awesome venue (go for karaoke). Also, public transit is cheap ($1 for 24 hours with transfer) and there are free street cars too. Eat Migas when you can. As for record shopping, I found fuck all there. Best of luck.
  19. Toronto->Buffalo->Toronto->Ottawa->Montreal->New York->Montreal
  20. Part two of my awesome unemployed winter roadtrip is coming up and I am going to the following places for April. I'm pretty sure there was already a thread about Toronto record stores (and I have a friend there who says she knows all the good ones) but if anyone could help me out with any of the other places I would greatly appreciate it.
  21. Last night they were *gasp* sold out of their vinyl - although they had some records by that shitty band Blood Meridian. And yes, whip ass show.
  22. I like the sound of "Mighty Taco", but yeah, I should have known from the name "Buffalo". What's the address of Sit and Spin?
