It could have to do with the rights to the album masters. That's why the one hits collection was all re-recordings.

I was hoping this was a box set of all their material, maybe that will happen at some point after the Bright Eyes box releases. Shocked there's nothing from 'Media' on here - although different from where they went, there's some very strong material on that LP.
