I heard a release is set in the U.S. on RSD's Black Friday. Can't remember where I read that. I remember it being a somewhat reliable source, though.

I did a "black friday" search that returned no results so I figured we should start listing this stuff in one place. Record Store Day’s Black Friday is on November 25th this year. Rolling Stone confirms Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will release a live vinyl LP consisting primarily of tracks from last year’s Mojo. It will also include a new version of his obscure "Sweet William," a heavy blues stomper that was a originally a B side to 1999’s Echo track "Room at the Top."

Danfury's got it right. What you're hearing is called sibilance. I experience it on occasion with my set up but only on the same couple of LPs so I'm assuming it's a mastering problem. It annoying as hell and I have not figured out a way to eliminate it. One album I have that does it is Badly Drawn Boy's About A Boy soundtrack. Does it so bad I can't get myself to listen to it anymore. Bummer.

In a twist of irony, Simmonds, the victim of the alleged racist act, was tossed out of last night's scrimmage against the Rangers for a vicious hit from behind. But that's not the irony. After he delivered the cheap shot from behind, Sean Avery (yeah, I know, but whatever) challenged him to a fight and a scrum ensued. Well, during the mayhem, cameras picked up, quite obviously, Simmonds calling Avery a "faggot". This apparently because it's publicly known that Avery supports same-sex marriage. Victim one day, guilty the next.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Elvis Presley's Christmas With Elvis! The. Best. Get a clean copy on vinyl and you will never regret it. It will be your "go to" every year.

I believe the scrape/wear on the front bottom you mention is an intentional photographic effect that you'll see on all copies. As for the damage caused by the hole, I not sure I understand what you're describing. Can you photograph?

Got my replacement vinyl of Clouds today. I'll spin it tonight to see how it sounds.
