  1. It means that where I'm from all the people who have a new favortie band every week but pretend like they've listened to said bands for years would have a huge boner over every band playing that festival. It also means that none of those bands are my cup of tea. My boner has always been huge. Even before I pretended to like my new favorite bands.
  2. This, for sure. Member changes? Hell, they're all gone but for James. May as well be a solo album.
  3. The NHL called off plans Friday to realign and adopt a modified playoff format next season after the players' association refused to agree to the changes. I hate unions. Are these reasonable concerns? I think they refuse everything just to prove they call the shots. From ESPN: Two substantial player concerns emerged: whether the new structure would result in increased and more onerous travel; and the disparity in chances of making the playoffs between the smaller and larger divisions. "In order to evaluate the effect on travel of the proposed new structure, we requested a draft or sample 2012-13 schedule, showing travel per team. We were advised it was not possible for the league to do that. We also suggested reaching an agreement on scheduling conditions to somewhat alleviate player travel concerns ... but the league did not want to enter into such a dialogue."
  4. Anybody else as anxious as me to see the first Rangers/Bruins matchup of the year? Rangers D is friggin' awesome right now. And combine that with Hank's goaltending they become a legitimate contender. Rangers are also leading the league in hits. You think they're big enough to stymie the Bruins' offense. First meeting is in Boston, though, so hometown crowd will be a factor. Who do you think will take the season series?
  5. You won't get ripped off. You'll either get it or they will refund your money. Pop Market vinyl takes For. Ever. Gotsta be patient.
  6. But I did get the Musical Fidelity V-LPS, PJ20 book and the Bridge School Concerts DVD so it still rocked!
  7. Rangers played a solid all-around game tonight. Hank is pretty amazing between the pipes. Did anyone get to watch it? What was your take on the game?
  8. I'm sorry to hear that. Don't they use steroids to treat it?
  9. How come no one mentioned The In Sound From Way Out? As an instrumental album, this thing can compete with anything else they released. Killer. IC > L2I > PB > ISFWO > HSCP2 > CYH > HN > TT5B
  10. it could be any number of things.. im on steroids every year due to being very allergic to poison ivy... theres so many number of things that he legit could be on.. i'd imagine alot of them are things you wouldnt want to be public knowledge Krohn's disease. The man's got a shitting disorder. Betcha.
  11. Thank God you're still alive. Most situations like that where the victim gets in the car don't end well. This world can be a messed up place. I'm glad you're ok.
  12. Nice to see an old school collection around here every now and again. Very nice.
  13. I liked it a lot but I also have a Meximelt Tele, that I forgot to mention in my earlier post, that I liked just a little bit better. Actually, I think it was the stock pickups I liked better. Anyway, I chose to sell the US Tele only because it had I higher resell value. If you can find a used hwy 1 for around $500, I'd highly recommend it.
  14. I don't think the Sox will spend big here. I'd be shocked to see them commit a lot of money to anyone this off season, especially in this situation. But Theo is now spending Cubs money. Not the Sox.
  15. My Amazon order finally showed up today. I was a little concerned there for a while but it made it and it looks awesome. Did anyone else notice the messages in the trail-off wax of each LP? If anyone's curious... 1A - "1 2 3 o'clock 4 o'clock rock" 1B - "thanks mom and dad" 2A - "be like water be like wind" 2B - "nothing can surpass the mystery of stillness" 3A - "our biggest achievement: assisting to free the west memphis three" 3B - "live aloha everyday. mahalo nui loa.... pearl jam" Biggest achievement? Really? And who knows Hawaiian?
  16. I've recently paired down my collection from nine guitars to three (actually, four because I bought a new guitar with the money). I sold an Epiphone G-400, Ibanez AF75, Ibanez AR200, Telecaster Highway 1, a vintage 1960's no-name jaguar-type guitar, and a Takamine EG334. These were the photos I took for the craigslist ads I placed: Here's what I currently own: A 2011 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Double-cut with p-90's, 2009 American Standard Strat, and a 2007 Epiphone Masterbuilt Acoustic (not pictured). As you can tell, I'm a closet player. This stuff never leaves my home. I miss all the guitars I sold to some extent but I reeeeeeally love that LP I bought with the money. And I had enough extra money to buy both amps in the photo; the Blues Jr. NOS and the Marshall Class 5. I bought everything insanely cheap through sales combined with rebates and no tax or shipping.
  17. Uh, yankeesbeisbol is Spanish. But I did hear that the Cubs are now in the bidding. Theo Epstein had the highest posting bid in major league history for a Japanese player when he posted $51 million before being able to negotiate with Daisuke Matsuzaka. You think he'll go in just as hard for Darvish?
  18. Mine got cancelled this morning. Bummed, to say the least. I ordered red/white at 11:50pm est on 12/1 just in case anyone is keeping track.
  19. Wow! You must be as old as me. I think 99% of the people here aren't going to know him even if they saw him. MASH was awesome.
  20. I lived in Astoria, Queens for about 12 years while working in mid-town Manhattan. It's been about 15 yrs since I left but it was an awesome (mostly Greek/Italian) neighborhood just 20 mins from midtown by subway. Very reasonable rent. I'll check with my old landlord to see if he has any apartments available. Are you going to be working for Jonathan Cohen? That guy has got my dream job!
  21. What do you consider reasonable? It fetches quite a bit these days.
  22. Yes is available at acoustic sounds for $9.99! Jump on that shit, now! http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/62404/M orphine-Yes-180_Gram_Vinyl_Record At that price, I almost want to buy it again!
  23. I'm all for it, too. But they've got to shorten the playoffs. 16 teams in is still way too many. I think they need to narrow it down to two teams from each conference. Do a conference championship then regional championship (say conf. a vs. conf. b and conf. c vs. conf. d) then the Stanley Cup finals. More like baseball, I guess.
  24. Amazon has the pre-sale up now, also but it's is currently at $23. I would expect that to come down quite a bit over the next few weeks. We'll see. Typically, when everyone else is $21-$23, Amazon is around $17-$19 sometimes lower. At least, that's been my experience.
