Tim Thomas decided not to join his Bruins teammates at the White House today. Thomas posted the following statement on his Facebook page tonight: "I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People. This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government. That would be sweet but I think they're trying to draw the Canadian audience across the border. I think it's a two hour drive, maybe less, from Toronto to Detroit.

Even though Burnett showed some improvement toward the end of the season, I don't see him making it to spring training in a Yankees uniform. Unless of course no one wants to touch him, which is quite possible. And being a Yankees fan, I'm still not sure how I feel about giving up Montero. He looked real promising at the big league level. Only time will tell I guess. And we did need pitching bad.

A couple of good stories regarding the Winter Classic came up today. First, The NHL has all but finalized details to hold next year's Winter Classic between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. It holds 110,00 people and would be the largest crowd ever for an NHL game!!! And lastly, the police finally caught one of the scumbags who had brutally beaten the Rangers fan (an off-duty cop) after this years Rangers v. Flyers Winter Classic.
