  1. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but keep in mind that for the past 15 years I have been a professional music critic and writer. Therefore my opinion counts double what the average music fan's does. BUT, also keep in mind that I am now a humble skate shop owner and as such nobody give a shit what I think anymore, so there you have it. It all balances out. Still though, it's a little toss up between "Easter" and "Tail Swallower," but I think the latter takes it. And TAAS, to me, were the perfect blend of post-punk, progressive hardcore and straight-up rock. Thus, the perfect band, nearly on par with the late, great Into Another (also known as "the greatest band ever to exist). haha. Well, I will definitely agree with the assertion that TAAS were that perfect blend. No doubt about that shit. Like I said, all three albums are so close to equally amazing that the hierarchy is practically microscopic. Easily one of my top favorites of all time. Their catalog as whole I would say could easily rival any similar bands in greatness. Unfortunately they were criminally under-exposed. "Horse Girl" jams like nothing else on this Earth. One of the prime examples of that blend of styles you were referring to. I'm actually going to spin TS&D again today to try and remember what my gripe actually was with it.
  2. Got a tradelist somewhere? I might be interested in trading.
  3. I agree with everything said here While I am a huge TAAS fan, I'm not sure Tail Swallower was quite a perfect album. After all is said and done, I kind of feel like its the weakest release but by no means a bad one. I pretty much love all three albums equally but with a marginal hierarchy putting TS&D at third. Still, that doesn't mean that its inferior in quality in general, just not as good as the others. As far as MTB, POI was my first album from them. Love it. Love MEO. Love HRP to a slightly lesser extent than the aforementioned two and OMNI was just disappointing in general save the few good tracks.
  4. Unless you're referring to the European first press back from 2003, this album is available for pre-order at many outlets including amazon. Street date April 5, 2011.
  5. Its kind of hard to believe that the Skynyrd, Sade, or Cure tracks would be either easy or cheap to license but then again, we have no idea what those fees even ballpark.
  6. Just caved and ordered the clear. I'll have a complete collection of one ISIS press yet!
  7. The UK one comes out to $18.52 after shipping. Japan comes out to $23.00 to ship insured with tracking. Both are just too much for a two track 7" I could risk the uninsured and untrackable shipping but then I risk $11. Not a lot of money but if its stolen, I'm still out $11 that could be spent on something I can actually get.
  8. Minerva 7". you should have bought it at Hot Topic in 2003. but yeah, this could easily be a 2xLP and have ALL their covers. there isn't a studio Weezer cover but they have S.O.D., Depeche Mode, Helmet, John Lennon and Duran Duran covers they throw on here. Nightboat was on the iTunes B-Sides & Rarities and man does it sound better than the old bootleg versions! Unfortunately for me, I wasn't buying vinyl 2003. And yeah, I thought it might have been the Minerva 7". Oh well.
  9. It is but its still stupid to not have it on here and I can get one of those singles for ONLY about 20 to 30 bucks. Totally worth it./sarcasm] But really, its incredibly lame they didn't put it on. I would take that over "Simple Man" any day. Luckily "Caress" is awesome.
  10. Because I didn't get the Seaweed color I wanted. worst thing about bands with crazy collectors when /100 variants are unleashed. fuckin a, I just want the ONE color I like best. ya dig? Yeah! Go back and do more Seaweed. There are at least two hearts aching for it on this forum alone. But seriously, its always rough for the fans when doing /100's.
  11. You and me both. I still bit...I'm a sucker for this damn band...and I've always dug clear vinyl for some reason. You might wanna grab an extra one. It may be your best shot at being able to trade someone with an extra Seaweed if you know what I mean. I don't know why but I really want you to end up finding one....without trading your soul. I'd be less one friend at this point if I were you.
  12. Then we're agreed. It must be exactly $15 or penguins the world over better watch their backs. Seriously though. I paid the $21 for Diamond Eyes (single LP) and I feel that it was worth it because the quality of the playback is obscenely good and the album is legit as fuck but this thing could have been so much better. If its something ridiculous like $25 they can eat me.
  13. Expensive? If its more than $15 I'm gonna punch a penguin in the throat. We're getting raped hard enough for most RSD releases.
  14. It is pathetic that "Sinatra" is not on this. "Simple Man" should have easily been cut to make way for it.
  15. Omni is kind of weak. Had a good Summer vibe but also comes with some negative nostalgic associations for me personally. Obviously can't fault it for the personal shit but still, the album itself was a bit of a letdown. There are definitely worse things to listen to though. "Excuses" and "Dayglow Vista Road" are quite exceptional. I remember seeing the youtube video in the studio of Jake recording dubs for what became the latter and I knew I'd love that song from that.
  16. As much as I would like to be able to play "The Wait" at 45 RPM, I'm gonna have to pass on the 6LP box. Not even that huge of a Metallica fan anymore. Not really since I was about 15 have I been big on them. I may possibly someday spring for the 3LP.
  17. If it ends up being Around The Fur (or any Deftones represses), I'll send you women. Piles of women...as a thank you.
  18. Could be speculative....or just plain good advice! I have it and its kind of balls. I only paid 50 for it which is pretty cheap by eBay standards but I don't like it too much. Might just be that my copy is shite in comparison to others. I really didn't pick up on the potential for a hint on travis's comment but now that you brought it to my attention, I'm thinking it may be.
  19. A user on the Deftones board www.sharinglungs.com who has proven to be quite a reliable source of information in the past has posted a thread there called 4.16.11 that is dated a few days after attention had already been called to the "Covers" LP. I'm thinking there may be more vinyl output from Deftones than just this Covers LP. Hopefully Around The Fur or any repress of any of the past albums on vinyl. They seriously need to repress all of their out of print albums. Link: http://www.sharinglungs.com/index.php/topic,17769.0.html
  20. Sweet. I was under the impression that whatever announcements you had were pertinent to RSD. But whenever you can drop a head's up, I'm happy.
