  1. FUCKING YES!!!!!!!!! Now I can replace my factory defect black version for less than $40!!!! Fucking worst color on Earth but as long as it plays, I'm in!
  2. Looks to me like there was absolutely no reason to not wait for the standard issue of either the CD or LP. A bunch of gimmicky junk basically. Granted the display case sounds cool as hell but is definitely one of those types of things that can be filed under "Go Without."
  3. Yeah, I definitely busted my ass collecting those. I'd say a repress is in order.
  4. With an avatar like that, I assumed you already had...
  5. Stupid! Why the fuck would they destroy the original tape it was recorded on??? They must be counting on 2012 being the end of the world because why else would you cut the original tape into little pieces and disseminate them to the public unless you knew you were never going to press the album again? Am I crazy? Even if they bounced it to a backup tape they'll still have loss, right?
  6. Oh fuck. Please bump the Progress thread if you want to bring up that shit storm. Please.
  7. People on eBay are always trying to make albums out to be sold out long before they actually are. Diamond Eyes and the WP reissue are getting more scarce now but they are still pretty readily available at a few sites/malls. The original WP (which looks identical to the new one) was always going for about $100 in the years leading up to the reissue.
  8. Yeah, I'm sure it was. I kind of didn't think of that when I posted that. Still, awesome press.
  9. Good philosophy. Unfortunately, I'm too much of a cunt to NOT bitch about this. Of course, I'm getting it. And hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised by the sound.
  10. Apparently, its incorrect information according to travis. I believe him but I guess we'll all know for sure when we finally get our hands on it.
  11. You guys should seriously keep this thing going like Deathwish is doing with the last four Converge records. Great job so far though.
  12. Yeah. I could have dealt with having no "Convectuoso" a little better had it been 2XLP. Oh well. I mean, Evil Empire is about the same length and is a single LP and it sounds pretty nice. I can still tell its a bit over compressed compared to something like White Pony but it still sings. I hope the same team that cut, mastered and pressed Diamond Eyes is working on this one.
  13. Just pre-ordered from amazon. Price dropped to about $18.20 so I figured I could live with that for a single. I'll definitely grab the white version also though so I can put them together in a sheath and pretend the album is a double.
  14. ...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand youtube video blocked by NBC!
  15. Some list prices: http://reccollect.livejournal.com/ Don't know how reliable this is but some of this stuff is ridiculous.
  16. Diamond eyes is 5:30 shorter than W&T. That is crucial. If W&T were only 40 minutes, I wouldn't bitch at all. Diamond Eyes is one of the absolute best case scenarios for sound quality on a single LP in my experience but unless they've made some technological breakthroughs with the Long Player, the sound of this release stands to pale in comparison to a version that would be split across two discs. The less time per side, the better quality of sound you get. As a general rule of thumb, 45 minutes is the cap for two sides of one LP. You can got past that but the sound will suffer. Granted I've heard albums around 47 to 50 minutes smashed on to one disc that have sounded way better than expected but you can still hear the faintness in the mastering. It just doesn't explode through the speakers the same as a press with a better duration constraint balance. Since W&T should only go half a minute over capacity, it shouldn't be so bad. We'll see, I guess... True but didn't this issue just go on with RX Bandits Progress being pressed to vinyl and since the label had full control and owned all rights (I guess they were fucked out of royalty rights or something?) they didn't stand to make any money on it. Sounds like it could be a very similar situation with Glassjaw considering how much they hate Warner. I don't really know the full details of the RX situation but that's what I gathered based on the drama that unfolded on here and RX's facebook. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. This release has absolutely no association with the band themselves. The label owns this recording so Glassjaw don't see a dime. Its all the label that would be handling any future presses including this one.
  18. We might get lucky and they'll pull a Blue Sky Noise and put out a 180g double LP for $30 in a second pressing.
