Glassjaw - Worship and Tribute on RSD
mcpherson123 replied to gmoney's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Oh. I kind of missed that aspect of the exchange. That sucks. Things are actually warming up quite nicely here in Chicago. Not to change the subject completely but do you happen to have a picture of the Damiera M(US)IC 180 gram clear LP? -

I feel ya. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that it would put the cost up at least $10 to $20 more. I doubt Roadrunner would make it cheap for them, you know? That's awesome that you have that. Think you could send me a FLAC or WAV rip of Convectuoso? I only have it in VBR from a download I got in 2004. -

^ Its already a miracle that they found it cost effective enough to press the album. I highly doubt they'd be putting any more effort into acquiring the rights to a song that is owned by another label. Let's hope they prove me wrong though. -

Nothing has been made clear about this pigfuck of a release. I want this album and I'd like that 7" but that is too much useless cheap crap thrown in to attempt to justify that ridiculous price tag, especially if they're basically threatening to raise the price after a certain point "so buy now!" Bullshit. I'll be grabbing a copy from either amazon or SRC. -

The record business aspect of this band's history is unfortunate. I know they don't support the vinyl pressing of EYEWTKAS and I pretty much figured they'd feel the same way about this one. It sucks to support a machine with so little regard for a band's creative/personal freedom but at the same time....I REALLY want this on vinyl. -

Yeah, the singles were all done by the band independently. This release is a huge multi-mega-conglomeration release and I'm pretty sure there is absolutely no input from the band on this one. They won't be nearly as scarce as that. -

^ I would still prepare for the worst by securing yourself a copy as soon as is humanly possible. You never know with vinyl releases. -
Isis- Red Sea question
mcpherson123 replied to xadamhudsonx's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Haha. I didn't mean any offense. What I actually meant was that it would be stupid for me personally to attempt it considering I just got into this band last May. Given that, it would cost me easily a small fortune to even attempt to complete it. Yet I still have 12 copies of Oceanic. Some doubles that I would like to unload if anyone is interested. Sorry, j, no extra Seaweed however. -

Is this what you were referring to when you said you'd have an announcement that would make this place erupt? -

I will NEVER try to complete my ISIS vinyl collection including all variants. That would just be stupid. -

This and the Deftones covers LP are making me nuts right now. Hope this pans out. -
Isis- Red Sea question
mcpherson123 replied to xadamhudsonx's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
That's what my assumption was... but found it kind of unlikely that I'd find a copy out of 86 sitting on the shelf at Ameoba. Thanks for the help friends. Much appreciated. I am in the same exact boat as you. I got the same variant when I ordered mine from amazon over the summer. Same package and everything. Go us. -

Assholes are still going to list both variants on eBay for way too much money/too high starting bids and claim that they're more rare than they are, claim they're sold out long before they are (if they're in hand before they actually sell out) and the uninformed are still going to pay them to acquire the records. -

If you could possibly get color way information for the release and post it here, I would be extremely grateful. Also, are the copies that you're receiving 180 gram like the green is set to be? -

mcpherson123 replied to serum7's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Ok. I really don't want to spend $43 on this. SRC claims they have White copies. Does anyone know what color the amazon copies will be? I want to get the green but again, not for $43. Don't care about the extras. Just want it on green. -

^True but it seems like they're the kind of company that can't be fuckered with to actually do anything that cool. I hope I'm wrong and I hope it comes out soon. -

Unfortunately Equal Vision can't repress IKOSOSE because they no longer own the rights to it, Sony does. (EVR is the one responsible for this repress.) This is the worst news I've ever gotten. Unless of course Sony is planning on reissuing it...but that's doubtful. -
no shit. i unloaded my glassjaw 7 inches there, and it was so much more of a hassle than i had ever imagined. What was the hassle? If you don't mind me asking.
-
I hate to be an ass but I have to ask, what was the rationale behind leaving the last 20 seconds of "Hym" off this press? Or was it an accident? I mean the fade out works and if this were the first time someone heard this record it would be a totally believable ending but not having that last little bit and knowing that its supposed to be there is really weird. Maybe I'm the only one who cares this much.

PO: CIRCA SURVIVE Blue Sky Noise Deluxe 2xLP
mcpherson123 replied to scottheisel's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
No offense to Circa Survive -- I love the band -- but the Isis record is a classic and without peer. If you're on the fence and can only get one, go with "Oceanic." I listened to that record every day for a year when it came out. Yeah, deafmx has it right. I'm quite seasoned when it comes to the wearing out of Oceanic on multiple mediums. I own a whopping 12 copies of the fuckin' thing on vinyl including all variants of this new press. I was just pointing out the ridiculous cost difference between two recently released records and juxtaposed values of each. I own the fuck out of Oceanic. Its the BSN deluxe press that I'm on the fence about especially because its their weakest album by far.
