VH1 did a top whatever songs of the 90s and left off Everlong by the Foo Fighters. Not a big Foo Fighters song but even today I really enjoy that shit and it still gets pretty regular airplay. In my opinion that should be up there in the top 10 or even 5 with Hey Jealousy and Smells Like Teen Spirit (even though I don't like the song).

Also, got word from the hotel that our initial block of reserved rooms sold out! They've given us another 10 at the discounted rate so hurry up and book your rooms! Yea I was kind of surprised I didn't get the color version. I thought I ordered pretty quickly after this was posted, I guess they're more popular than I thought. Oh well, black is still kinda limited, and it is a really good record. There were only 100 and I think the band got 20 to sell on the road. Then Sam probably saved a couple for himself and saved some for friends and those involved with the record. I got a couple clear ones for myself. There were probably about 70 or less clear copies available to the public when it was all said and done.

Just confirmed THE SOVIETTES! Probably the last chance to catch them on the west coast!

There really was something really cool about the old hand-drawn/cut-n-paste/photo copied stuff from the 80s/90s. However, I don't know if it was necessarily a concious decision to a create a certain aesthetic, rather it was bred out of necessity. Back in the day, there wasn't a lot of money to pay artists and printers so they made the art themselves and photocopied them. Nowadays, computers are so advanced and printing is so cheap that you can make full color 7" jackets for probably about as much as bands were paying for their DIY photocopied covers back in the 90s. Today if you were to make a cover look like that it's more of a personal choice to create a certain look than out of necessity to save money or whatever. As an example, moxicopy.com will make 500 full color copies using 80lb 8x11.5" that you can use to make 7" jackets for less than $90. So yeah, nowadays doing that style is more of a choice than necessity.

HWM is the only band I'd bother with on this sorta release. Stoked!
