I know it's been said several times already, but as a variant collector of Weezer, I am so glad they didn't pull this shit with their new album.

This band is great. They've played in Boston with so many of my friends' bands, but I keep missing them. It's depressing.

50 dollars for an autograph is insane. I met Billy last year and had him sign my copy of Oceania, so I think I can pass.

The played Jonas at their show in Boston last night. It kicked ass.

The only thing he doesn't take into account is how much licensing costs. I assume half the reason these things are expensive as all hell is because the major label licensing costs are insane.

I know it will never happen, but I would love to see a 2016 Static Prevails 20th Anniversary Tour.

Yeah, SRC jacking up the price is not supporting the bands. I bet you the band makes maybe a dollar on each of these if that.

Also, may I add the fact that anyone finds Chase this Light to be objectively better than Clarity is laughable.

I have no problem with Chase This Light, it's a great album, the other albums are just great-er.

Every time you guys say bad things about Static Prevails, Tom Linton sheds a single tear.

On a more serious and less inflammatory note, I think Jason Tate is genuinely confusing what people are upset about. People understand that records cost money. People understand that record labels and bands are trying to make a profit. What people don't understand is why labels feel the need to jack up the prices to absurd levels. The margins on these must be insane. What sucks is that people (myself included) will pay these crazy prices and therefore labels are getting the impression that these are "good" prices. I wish I had the mental fortitude to say "I don't need these Jimmy Eat World albums, I own the CDs and have a premium Spotify account," but I don't.

Pumped I grabbed one of the /100. Thought briefly about grabbing both, but decided against it. My variant collection is for core Weezer releases only. Can't get crazy.

Was thinking about waiting on these, but when I saw Clarity was already sold out at the JEW webstore, I panicked. That was $100 I certainly didn't need to spend today.

My main beef with the Clarity reissue was the botched transition between "Crush" and "12.23.95" Also, the two bonus tracks coming in the middle of the record sucks, but was kind of unavoidable.

Anybody interested in the book and postcard? It's pretty cool, basically a hard bound liner notes with some sheet music. PM me with an offer if you want it.
